Abstract

An assessment on the dialectical relation between thought and language from a materialistic
standpoint is conducted in this article; pointing out that thought is the reflection of the
objective world in the man´s mind, being material due to its content, but subjective due to its form; it only exists as an idea and can be transmitted by means of its material covering, the
language. Thought and language are products of the social development and they will exist
as long as human beings. The technological scientific development will originate new ways of
transmitting the thought, but it will always be by means of the language developed by man.
