Community environmental education, a pedagogical proposal from the University

Abstract

The current environmental crisis highlights the need to join forces to safeguard all ecosystems. Therefore, the Ministry of Higher Education pays attention to the importance of community environmental education. The research aimed to propose workshops for environmental education in communities in the municipality of Imías, province of Guantánamo, as an experience that contributes to local development. Satisfactory results were obtained in the implementation of the proposed workshops, according to the methodology used, which allowed strengthening the relationship between agents and agencies of society, responsible action and active participation, through university-community integration.
