University participation, an experience from the catalejo project in the transformation of communities

Abstract

Participation constitutes a dimension of citizen education, which makes it possible to be part of the
community processes that are creatively created, in this sense, the authors declare types of university citizen
participation, a term that is defined in this research. The technological development requires to a large extent the link of
university students with society through concrete activities, coupled with social commitment; the objective is to
demonstrate that citizen participation is a way to achieve the university integrality and community development of any
nation; it reflects, starting from the role that the university plays as the most important cultural center.
