José Martí, paradigm for a liberating and sustainable education in the century XXI

Abstract

In the current context, of global, economic, political, social and spiritual crisis, resorting to paradigmatic
referents guiding human action, acquires significant relevance, the work assumes the evaluative analysis of Martian
thought as an expression of a liberating education, framed in the self-realization of the human being as a cultural and
emancipatory act, offering arguments that justify the need to resignify the Martian thought in moments of devaluation
of values, which require reconfiguring ethical codes, assuming education as preparation for life, rather than preparation
for work and understand freedom as self-realization of the individual and social human essence.
