Construction of statistical representations by active Chilean Primary Education teachers

Abstract

In this paper, the construction of statistical representations by Primary Education teachers from the central zone of Chile is evaluated. It is a qualitative, descriptive research, in which content analysis was used as a method. The sample consisted of 21 teachers, who responded a questionnaire with two items related to the construction of a double-entry table and a bar graph. The results show that most of the constructions can be considered as partially correct, observing errors in the handling of the structural elements and construction conventions of these representations.
