The development of English communicative skills from a linguistic and methodological approach

Abstract

The present paper is aimed at systematizing theoretical foundations of a linguistic and methodological approach that sustains the development of communicative skills in the English language with academic and research purposes. To this end, methods such as the analytic-synthetic, the inductive-deductive and the observation were used. This article is addressed to teachers from the University of Ciego de Ávila who are urged to learn and use the English language with such purposes in their professional practice. The most widely used theoretical elements about the development of communicative skills are systematized.
