Environmental education in the population before the impact ofclimate chance: role of the Municipal University Center

Abstract

Given the need to raise the knowledge and participation of the population in the confrontation with climate change, an action plan was developed from the Municipal University Center in San Luis, Santiago de Cuba province, for environmental education in the residents. In correspondence with the qualitative methodology of social research, methods and techniques of the theoretical and empirical level were applied. 5 methodological guidelines and 6  were
proposed, such as the formation of a management group, training for local decision- makers and the general population, carrying out public good campaigns, partially implemented and that denote their importance.
