The functions of the tutor in virtual education

Abstract

The objective of this article is to describe the functions that the tutor must play in virtual education. A study was developed with a qualitative approach with a descriptive scope. A documentary analysis of articles retrieved by Google Scholar, DOAJ, Dialnet and Scopus was carried out, in conjunction with analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive research methods, enabling the systematization and updating of knowledge regarding the functions of the virtual tutor. As a result, the tutorial functions are assumed: guidance / social, academic / pedagogical, technological, institutional / administrative and investigative / innovative. The need for the virtual tutor to master all these functions for a correct performance of her work is recognized.
