Elective course on Knowledge Management in Medicine: curriculum design and impact assessment instrument
Main Article Content
Abstract
The gap between scientific evidence and clinical practice necessitates training physicians with competencies in knowledge management (KM). This article describes the design of an elective KM course for fifth-year medical students in Sagua la Grande and proposes an instrument to evaluate its perceived impact. A twenty-item Likert-scale survey was designed to assess knowledge, skills, attitudes, and perceived utility regarding KM and evidence-based practice. Results showed significant improvement across these dimensions. The course proves to be a viable strategy for narrowing this gap.
