			<title>Introducción</title>
			<p>Desde los inicios de la gestación de Cuba como nación se ha destacado la importancia del conocimiento de la historia de la patria. Varios autores han aportado al desarrollo de la Historia de Cuba como materia de enseñanza, entre ellos <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Díaz (2006</xref>), <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">Romero (2006</xref>) y <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">Campos (2018</xref>), elaboran sus propuestas reconociendo el conocimiento de la misma como fundamental en la consecución de la construcción de una nación independiente y proponen alternativas teórico- metodológicas.</p>
			<p>No obstante, continúa siendo necesario perfeccionar el tratamiento del acervo que se constituye en fuente del conocimiento histórico para que la enseñanza de la Historia de Cuba resulte una herramienta más eficiente en la transformación social. El trabajo metodológico que se desarrolla en esta disciplina, visto a través de la validación del programa de la asignatura y las acciones que se desarrollan en diferentes órganos del trabajo metodológico y docente educativo en la carrera de Licenciatura en Contabilidad y Finanzas de la Universidad de Guantánamo evidencia insuficiencias en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de esta materia.</p>
			<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia destacado intelectual revolucionario cubano, aporta un conocimiento de la historia patria enriquecedor de los estudios historiográficos que se desarrollan en el país. Sus reflexiones reúnen la cientificidad necesaria para ser utilizadas en la enseñanza de la Historia de Cuba y con ello elevar la calidad de la misma.</p>
			<p>Con el análisis histórico lógico y la interpretación de la bibliografía con un enfoque transdisciplinar se construye el presente trabajo el cual tiene como objetivo ofrecer recomendaciones metodológicas para utilizar la obra de Fernando Martínez Heredia como fuente del conocimiento histórico en la enseñanza de la Historia de Cuba en la carrera de Licenciatura en Contabilidad y Finanzas.</p>

			<title>Desarrollo</title>
			<p>La prédica martiana en la lucha por la independencia nacional fundamenta la necesidad del conocimiento de la historia de la patria. Los documentos rectores del Partido Comunista de Cuba (PCC) y los objetivos de trabajo del <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">Ministerio de Educación Superior (MES) (2017</xref>) también lo refrendan.</p>
			<p>En el Plan de Estudio “E” de la Licenciatura en Contabilidad y Finanzas se reconoce la necesidad de la enseñanza de la Historia de Cuba para formar profesionales comprometidos con el proyecto social cubano.</p>
			<p>La disciplina Historia de Cuba transversaliza el proceso formativo y contribuye al desarrollo de valores éticos coherentes con el proyecto socialista cubano. Asimismo, aporta a la formación de un profesional de la contabilidad y las finanzas portador de un pensamiento reflexivo y crítico, capaz de discernir, frente a la propaganda cultural mediática, en conformidad con los intereses históricos del pueblo cubano.</p>
			<p>El conocimiento de la Historia de Cuba ofrece recursos para aprender del pasado, comprender y transformar el presente en correspondencia con las tradiciones patrióticas y la emancipación de Cuba. Los profesionales universitarios se conciben como protagonistas en la preservación del proyecto socialista, la defensa de la soberanía y la independencia nacional frente a las ambiciones imperiales de los Estados Unidos de América (EE. UU).</p>
			<p>La observación de clases, el desarrollo de entrevistas y la valoración del comportamiento de los estudiantes en diferentes actividades extensionistas en esta carrera informan sobre limitaciones en el aprovechamiento de los conocimientos históricos para explicarse problemas de la práctica social contemporánea en Cuba.</p>
			<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia puntualizó en diferentes textos la necesidad de continuar perfeccionando la enseñanza de la Historia de Cuba y trabajar en la divulgación de las investigaciones históricas porque es un conocimiento fundamental para la salvaguarda de la nación. Para él la historia es un arma invaluable, por lo que es necesario divulgar y entregar esa historia a niños y jóvenes. Considera que es necesario interesar, atraer, emocionar y compartir conocimientos históricos para superar el escaso aprovechamiento que se hace de los mismos. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Martínez Heredia, 2018</xref>)</p>
			<p>La trayectoria intelectual y teórica de Fernando Martínez Heredia no ha sido suficientemente estudiada. <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">Sader (2018</xref>) y <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">Sánchez (2018</xref>) profundizan en su pensamiento destacando los valores axiológicos e ideológicos de su obra a partir del conocimiento de la historia de América Latina y de Cuba contenido en ella. En la búsqueda bibliográfica realizada no se identificaron propuestas que aborden su propuesta teórica como fuente del conocimiento histórico en la enseñanza de la Historia de Cuba.</p>
			<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia nació en Villa Clara, desarrolló una profunda labor teórica a partir del estudio y divulgación de la historia de Cuba. En sus textos se tratan cuestiones relacionadas con las luchas del pueblo cubano en todas sus etapas y se detiene en la participación de diferentes sectores sociales y personalidades, consideradas por él como fundamentales en la historia nacional.</p>
			<p>En el estudio de la historia patria Martínez reivindica el marxismo como herramienta teórica para la comprensión y explicación de los diferentes hechos y procesos históricos. Al mismo tiempo asume lo más progresista del pensamiento cubano y latinoamericano como referente para divulgar la Historia de Cuba y utilizarla como instrumento de concientización revolucionaria en la lucha por la defensa de la independencia, la soberanía y el socialismo.</p>
			<p>El tratamiento de la obra de Fernando Martínez Heredia como fuente del conocimiento histórico está avalado por la comprensión de los fenómenos históricos, sociales, económicos y políticos que ella contiene. Otro aspecto considerado es el análisis histórico y lógico de la historia nacional que expone, el mismo favorece aprehender el curso de la historia y el modo en que los diferentes procesos han condicionado la contemporaneidad cubana.</p>
			<p>
				<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B5">Méndez et al. (2016</xref>) concuerda con que la fuente del conocimiento histórico no solo es portadora de los datos históricos sobre lo acontecido en el pasado, como resto o testimonio, también es resultado de la actividad humana que refleja los hechos históricos directamente.</p>
			<p>Igualmente se tiene en cuenta el análisis de <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">Guadarrama (2018</xref>), quien sostiene que para fundamentar el alcance de una obra se debe considerar la solidez teórica-conceptual y epistemológica, así como su correspondencia con las exigencias de la práctica social.</p>
			<p>En el caso de la obra de Fernando Martínez Heredia se aprecian los atributos valorados por estos autores y con base en dichos criterios se concibe la misma como fuente del conocimiento histórico para la enseñanza de la Historia de Cuba. Su utilización con este propósito contribuye a elevar la calidad del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.</p>
			<p>Al mismo tiempo, la necesidad y posibilidad del tratamiento de dicha obra en la enseñanza de la Historia de Cuba está dada por su coherencia con el hilo conductor del programa: el proceso de formación, desarrollo, consolidación y defensa de la nacionalidad y la nación cubanas.</p>
			<p>Las ideas rectoras a través de las cuales se desarrollará este hilo conductor se refieren a las luchas del pueblo cubano por lograr la constitución del Estado Nacional Independiente y conquistar la justicia social.</p>
			<p>El abordaje del proceso revolucionario cubano realizado por Fernando Martínez Heredia favorece el tratamiento intencionado de la unidad como principio rector en la defensa de la independencia de Cuba, la comprensión de la revolución cubana como un proceso continuo y de Estados Unidos como enemigo histórico de la libertad y la independencia de Cuba.</p>
			<p>Es válido, además, para fundamentar que el socialismo es la alternativa de desarrollo con equidad, justicia social e independencia para el país y asumir el pensamiento de José Martí, Ernesto Che Guevara y Fidel Castro Ruz como soporte ético, ideológico y teórico en la enseñanza de la Historia de Cuba.</p>
			<p>En los objetivos generales del programa de la disciplina Historia de Cuba se plantea desarrollar en los estudiantes convicciones patrióticas, socialistas e internacionalistas que propicien una actitud consecuente con su proceder como profesional revolucionario y socialista.</p>
			<p>Otro de los propósitos a lograr es la aplicación creadora de la metodología marxista leninista a la evolución histórica del pueblo cubano con sus tradiciones revolucionarias, sus luchas y su proyección continental y mundial.</p>
			<p>En este sentido, se asumen las contribuciones de este autor como argumentos a tener en cuenta para el logro de las aspiraciones planteadas en el programa de Historia de Cuba.</p>
			<p>El primer tema del programa de la asignatura se nombra Cuba durante la sociedad colonial y para trabajar las ideas rectoras ya enunciadas se propone utilizar los siguientes textos de Fernando Martínez Heredia : Visión de la Historia de José Martí: Fundamentos y proyectos (2009), Los más humildes también crearon la nación (2016), José Antonio Aponte y los orígenes del pensamiento político cubano (2016), De negros de Cuba a cubanos negros (2017). Los tres primeros artículos abordan la contribución de negros, mulatos y mestizos al proceso de conformación de la nacionalidad.</p>
			<p>Estos artículos refieren la participación de sectores poco visibilizados por la historiografía tradicional. Fundamentan que sus contribuciones no solo fueron en las acciones bélicas, también están presentes en el desarrollo del pensamiento revolucionario. Entre ellos se reconocen a José Antonio Aponte y Antonio Maceo.</p>
			<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia visibiliza los aportes de los diferentes sectores sociales a la liberación nacional, especialmente de los más humildes y discriminados. Sostiene que es importante reivindicar la participación popular en las luchas por la emancipación. Por ello argumenta como una de las principales tareas intelectuales el rescate e interpretación con profundidad y compromiso del proceso de formación de la nación cubana, sus avatares y lo que ella nos brinda para enfrentar el presente y el futuro. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Martínez Heredia, 2018</xref>)</p>
			<p>En Los humildes también crearon la nación, destaca la participación de los sectores más populares en el proceso de conformación de la nacionalidad y la nación cubanas. Explica que con su participación en la Revolución se transformaron en hombres portadores de la identidad que los definió como cubanos al mismo tiempo que enriquecieron con su práctica libertaria los valores que caracterizarían al pueblo de Cuba.</p>
			<p>La utilización de estos textos a partir de la orientación del profesor contribuye a que los estudiantes se apropien de argumentos que favorezcan el razonamiento reflexivo en torno al reconocimiento de la fundamental contribución de los sectores más humildes en la construcción de la patria nación.</p>
			<p>También se consideran los puntos de vista y la valoración que desarrolla Fernando Martínez Heredia sobre José Martí y su labor revolucionaria. Destaca de la labor martiana su práctica política cubana y la propuesta de un proyecto inclusivo, de justicia social, enfocado en eliminar el colonialismo, frenar el naciente neocolonialismo y fundar una república nueva con todos y para el bien de todos.</p>
			<p>Argumenta el proyecto político de José Martí desde una posición revolucionaria que perdura en el tiempo y pondera su vigencia para sostener el socialismo cubano frente a las políticas imperiales y los desafíos de construir un proyecto social que asegure equidad y justicia social.</p>
			<p>En la obra de Fernando Martínez Heredia, las recurrencias al pensamiento de José Martí son frecuentes. Destaca las visiones del Apóstol sobre la historia de América y de Cuba, así como las diferentes formas en las que se vale de estos conocimientos para el desarrollo de su práctica social revolucionaria.</p>
			<p>El segundo tema: La sociedad neocolonial cubana, su establecimiento y evolución. Proyecciones ideológicas, permite articular textos que resaltan el quehacer teórico y práctico revolucionario de diferentes personalidades históricas, particularmente en el proceso revolucionario de los años 30.</p>
			<p>En este sentido se considera trabajar con Noción de pueblo en la Historia me Absolverá (1973), Guiteras y la revolución (2001), ¿Por qué Julio Antonio? (2003), Introducción a la revolución cubana del 30 (2012), Guiteras y el socialismo cubano (2012), Socialismo soviético y socialismo cubano y el caso de Antonio Guiteras (2016).</p>
			<p>El trabajo con estos textos ayuda en la explicación del antimperialismo como rasgo distintivo del movimiento emancipador a partir de la tercera década del siglo XX. Otro aspecto que distingue es la asunción del marxismo como doctrina que junto al ideario martiano servirá de fundamento teórico, político e ideológico en las luchas por la independencia y la justicia social, así como el papel que en ellas desempeñaron diferentes personalidades.</p>
			<p>Antonio Guiteras, importante personalidad de este periodo, es considerado exponente del antimperialismo más radical e iniciador del comunismo en Cuba, junto a estos aspectos destaca su identificación con la lucha armada, el desencadenamiento de la revolución popular y la necesidad de conquistar el poder político. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Martínez Heredia, 2018</xref>, p. 950)</p>
			<p>También resalta otras figuras fundamentales de este proceso revolucionario como Rubén Martínez Villena, Pablo de la Torriente Brau y Raúl Roa García quienes contribuyeron a la radicalización de la Revolución del 30 desarrollando un antimperialismo y un socialismo consecuente con las necesidades emancipatorias de la nación cubana.</p>
			<p>La pertinencia de la articulación de estas ideas radica en que favorece la comprensión de por qué el antimperialismo caracteriza el proceso revolucionario y define la proyección internacional del pueblo y el gobierno cubanos. Acorde con esto se llega a fundamentar el antimperialismo marcando el complejo proceso del que resultó Cuba transformada en un país independiente y soberano que escogió el socialismo como alternativa de proyecto social.</p>
			<p>Con relación al tercer tema: La Revolución en el poder. Su obra y significación se proponen La concepción del Che (2010), El pensamiento de Ernesto Che Guevara (2010), Socialismo (2014), Revolución cubana, Fidel y el pensamiento latinoamericano de izquierda (2015), Las relaciones culturales entre Cuba y Estados Unidos (2017), Sobre el socialismo y el hombre en Cuba (2017) y Orígenes y vigencia del pensamiento político de Fidel (2017).</p>
			<p>Desde estos textos el profesor conduce al estudiante a la aprehensión conceptual y posterior apropiación del conocimiento relacionado con la importancia de hacerle frente a la dominación cultural imperialista que hoy prevalece en el mundo, como una de las manifestaciones de la dominación cultural y forma de subordinar y silenciar a otras alternativas para anular la posibilidad de que un mundo mejor es posible.</p>
			<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia destaca la labor teórica y práctica de figuras como Ernesto Che Guevara con el propósito de aprovechar sus potencialidades axiológicas. Considera que el pensamiento del Che es un referente ético-político en la construcción del socialismo por lo que se asume como un extraordinario instrumento teórico para la formación política, ideológica y cultural. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Martínez Heredia, 2018</xref>)</p>
			<p>En Orígenes y vigencia del pensamiento político de Fidel, precisa sus aportes, desde su vida estudiantil hasta convertirse en ícono revolucionario de talla universal. En ese mismo sentido refiere la significación histórica del triunfo revolucionario del 1ro de enero de 1959 y sus contribuciones al pensamiento teórico y práctico de la izquierda latinoamericana, creando un socialismo sustentado en el pensamiento martiano, un marxismo latinoamericano, antimperialista e internacionalista donde el pueblo ha sido sujeto revolucionario del proyecto socialista.</p>
			<p>La valoración de Fernando Martínez Heredia sobre Fidel Castro y el estudio de su pensamiento permiten afirmar que las principales ideas que desarrolla sobre su pensamiento están relacionadas con la concepción de pueblo si de lucha se trata, el reconocimiento de la necesidad histórica del antimperialismo y el internacionalismo, así como de la alternativa socialista y la eticidad que caracteriza su humanismo revolucionario. Todas ellas dan fe de su originalidad y creatividad en la interpretación y aplicación del marxismo en la práctica revolucionaria.</p>
			<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia desarrolla una valoración de Fidel Castro que se asume como modelo de valoración de personalidades históricas, considera que Fidel ha sido protagonista de todas las batallas que ha enfrentado el pueblo cubano y declara:</p>
			<disp-quote>
				<p>Fidel es una de las cumbres del radicalismo político en la historia de Cuba. Uno de esos revolucionarios que tuvieron que ser, en sus actos, sus ideas, sus propuestas y sus proyectos muy subversivos respecto al orden establecido y sus fundamentos, y muy superiores a lo que parecía posible al sentido común y a las ideas compartidas en su tiempo, inclusive a las de otros revolucionarios. Martí y Fidel son las dos cumbres. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Martínez Heredia, 2018</xref>, p. 1180)</p>
			</disp-quote>
			<p>La obra de Fernando Martínez Heredia posibilita comprender la actuación y aportes de personalidades que han marcado la historia nacional y el proceso revolucionario cubano en sus momentos de unidad y superación. La propuesta de sus textos se realiza en correspondencia con las exigencias de la disciplina Historia de Cuba y el perfil del profesional de la contabilidad y las finanzas.</p>
			<p>El trabajo desarrollado para articular su obra en la enseñanza de la Historia de Cuba fue conforme al siguiente algoritmo.</p>
			<p>1ro Sistematización del estudio de la obra de Fernando Martínez Heredia y determinación de su correspondencia teórica y conceptual, ética e ideológica con el programa de la disciplina Historia de Cuba y el perfil del profesional de la contabilidad y las finanzas.</p>
			<p>2do Cumplimiento de las recomendaciones metodológicas conforme a las exigencias del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje y la valoración de los resultados de los estudiantes.</p>
			<p>3ro Valoración de los resultados del cumplimiento de dichas recomendaciones, identificando la factibilidad de las mismas y determinación de regularidades.</p>
			<p>Teniendo en cuenta los aspectos teórico-metodológicos anteriormente expresados, se realizaron observaciones a clases, entrevistas a los estudiantes, así como revisión de los documentos del trabajo metodológico, advirtiéndose las siguientes insuficiencias:</p>
			<p>
				<list list-type="bullet">
					<list-item>
						<p>Insuficiente utilización de la caracterización de los estudiantes para la concepción de actividades de carácter transdisciplinar.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>

			</p>
			<p>A partir de ello se ofrecen en el presente artículo varias recomendaciones metodológicas para contribuir a la solución de las insuficiencias detectadas utilizando la obra de Fernando Martínez Heredia como fuente del conocimiento histórico.</p>

			<p>El trabajo desarrollado según estas recomendaciones metodológicas permitió corroborar que el modo en que Fernando Martínez Heredia aborda la historia nacional se asume para ratificar el marxismo como herramienta teórico-metodológica para comprender la actualidad cubana. A su vez los estudiantes se apropian del conocimiento histórico y del método que le permite aprovecharlo creadoramente en la comprensión de las contradicciones y desafíos que se le presentan al país en su propósito de construir un país más equitativo e inclusivo.</p>
			<p>La valoración de los resultados del trabajo con la obra de Fernando Martínez Heredia evidenció que la misma aborda la historia con cientificidad y aporta a los estudios historiográficos que se desarrollan en Cuba. Por otra parte, su utilización como fuente del conocimiento histórico favorece la interpretación, la reflexión, el establecimiento de nexos entre pasado, presente y futuro con un fundamento ético e ideológico.</p>
			<p>La información obtenida a partir de la aplicación de diferentes instrumentos permitió constatar en los estudiantes un mayor acercamiento e interés por la historia patria desde una postura crítica y reflexiva. <title>Introduction</title>
				<p>Since the early gestation of Cuba as a nation, the importance of knowledge of the history of the homeland has been emphasized. Several authors have contributed to the development of Cuban History as a teaching subject, among them <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Díaz (2006</xref>), <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">Romero (2006</xref>) and <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">Campos (2018</xref>), elaborate their proposals recognizing the knowledge of it as fundamental in the achievement of the construction of an independent nation and propose theoretical-methodological alternatives.</p>
				<p>However, it continues to be necessary to improve the treatment of the heritage that constitutes the source of historical knowledge so that the teaching of Cuban History becomes a more efficient tool in social transformation. The methodological work developed in this discipline, seen through the validation of the program of the subject and the actions that are developed in different organs of the methodological and educational teaching work in the career of Bachelor in Accounting and Finance of the University of Guantánamo, evidences insufficiencies in the teaching and learning process of this subject.</p>
				<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia, an outstanding Cuban revolutionary intellectual, contributes with knowledge of the patriotic history that enriches the historiographic studies developed in the country. His reflections gather the necessary scientificity to be used in the teaching of Cuban History and thus raise its quality.</p>
				<p>With the logical historical analysis and the interpretation of the bibliography with a transdisciplinary approach, the present work is constructed with the objective of offering methodological recommendations to use Fernando Martinez Heredia's work as a source of historical knowledge in the teaching of Cuban History in the career of Bachelor in Accounting and Finance.</p>
			</sec>
			<sec sec-type="results">
				<title>Development</title>
				<p>Marti's preaching in the struggle for national independence substantiates the need for knowledge of the history of the homeland. The guiding documents of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the work objectives of the <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">Ministry of Higher Education (MES) (2017</xref>) also endorse it.</p>
				<p>The “E” Study Plan of the Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance recognizes the need for the teaching of Cuban History to train professionals committed to the Cuban social project.</p>
				<p>The discipline History of Cuba transversalizes the formative process and contributes to the development of ethical values consistent with the Cuban socialist project. Likewise, it contributes to the formation of an accounting and finance professional with reflective and critical thinking, capable of discerning, in the face of media cultural propaganda, in accordance with the historical interests of the Cuban people.</p>
				<p>The knowledge of Cuban History offers resources to learn from the past, to understand and transform the present in correspondence with the patriotic traditions and the emancipation of Cuba. University professionals are conceived as protagonists in the preservation of the socialist project, the defense of sovereignty and national independence against the imperial ambitions of the United States of America (USA).</p>
				<p>The observation of classes, the development of interviews and the assessment of students' behavior in different extension activities in this career report limitations in the use of historical knowledge to explain problems of contemporary social practice in Cuba.</p>
				<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia pointed out in different texts the need to continue perfecting the teaching of Cuban History and to work on the dissemination of historical research because it is a fundamental knowledge for the safeguarding of the nation. For him, history is an invaluable weapon, so it is necessary to disseminate and deliver that history to children and young people. He considers that it is necessary to interest, attract, excite and share historical knowledge to overcome the scarce use that is made of it. (Martínez Heredia, 2018)</p>
				<p>The intellectual and theoretical trajectory of Fernando Martínez Heredia has not been sufficiently studied. <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">Sader (2018</xref>) and <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">Sánchez (2018</xref>) delve into his thought highlighting the axiological and ideological values of his work based on the knowledge of the history of Latin America and Cuba contained in it. In the bibliographic search carried out, no proposals were identified that address his theoretical proposal as a source of historical knowledge in the teaching of Cuban History.</p>
				<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia was born in Villa Clara, he developed a deep theoretical work from the study and dissemination of Cuban history. His texts deal with issues related to the struggles of the Cuban people in all its stages and he dwells on the participation of different social sectors and personalities, considered by him as fundamental in the national history.</p>
				<p>In the study of the patriotic history, Martinez vindicates Marxism as a theoretical tool for the understanding and explanation of the different historical facts and processes. At the same time, he assumes the most progressive of Cuban and Latin American thought as a reference to disseminate the History of Cuba and use it as an instrument of revolutionary awareness in the struggle for the defense of independence, sovereignty and socialism.</p>
				<p>The treatment of Fernando Martinez Heredia's work as a source of historical knowledge is endorsed by the understanding of the historical, social, economic and political phenomena it contains. Another aspect considered is the historical and logical analysis of the national history that it exposes, the same one favors to apprehend the course of history and the way in which the different processes have conditioned the Cuban contemporaneity.</p>
				<p>
					<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B5">Méndez et al. (2016</xref>) agrees that the source of historical knowledge is not only the bearer of historical data about what happened in the past, as a remnant or testimony; it is also the result of human activity that reflects historical facts directly.</p>
				<p>Likewise, the analysis of <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">Guadarrama (2018</xref>) is taken into account, who argues that in order to substantiate the scope of a work; the theoretical-conceptual and epistemological soundness must be considered, as well as its correspondence with the demands of social practice.</p>
				<p>In the case of Fernando Martinez Heredia's work, the attributes valued by these authors are appreciated and based on these criteria it is conceived as a source of historical knowledge for the teaching of Cuban History. Its use for this purpose contributes to raise the quality of the teaching-learning process.</p>
				<p>At the same time, the necessity and possibility of the treatment of this work in the teaching of Cuban History is given by its coherence with the guiding thread of the program: the process of formation, development, consolidation and defense of the Cuban nationality and nation.</p>
				<p>The guiding ideas through which this thread will be developed refer to the struggles of the Cuban people to achieve the constitution of the Independent National State and to conquer social justice.</p>
				<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia's approach to the Cuban revolutionary process favors the intentional treatment of unity as a guiding principle in the defense of Cuba's independence, the understanding of the Cuban revolution as a continuous process and of the United States as the historical enemy of Cuba's freedom and independence.</p>
				<p>It is also valid to support the idea that socialism is the alternative of development with equity, social justice and independence for the country and to assume the thought of José Martí, Ernesto Che Guevara and Fidel Castro Ruz as ethical, ideological and theoretical support in the teaching of Cuban history.</p>
				<p>In the general objectives of the program of the discipline History of Cuba, it is proposed to develop in students patriotic, socialist and internationalist convictions that propitiate an attitude consistent with their actions as revolutionary and socialist professionals.</p>
				<p>Another of the purposes to be achieved is the creative application of the Marxist-Leninist methodology to the historical evolution of the Cuban people with its revolutionary traditions, its struggles and its continental and world projection.</p>
				<p>In this sense, the contributions of this author are assumed as arguments to be taken into account for the achievement of the aspirations set forth in the History of Cuba program.</p>
				<p>The first topic of the subject program is named Cuba during the colonial society and to work on the guiding ideas already stated it is proposed to use the following texts by Fernando Martínez Heredia : José Martí's Vision of History: Foundations and projects (2009), The humblest also created the nation (2016), José Antonio Aponte and the origins of Cuban political thought (2016), From blacks of Cuba to black Cubans (2017). The first three articles address the contribution of blacks, mulattos and mestizos to the process of shaping the nationality.</p>
				<p>These articles refer to the participation of sectors little made visible by traditional historiography. They argue that their contributions were not only in war actions, but also in the development of revolutionary thought. Among them, José Antonio Aponte and Antonio Maceo are recognized.</p>
				<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia makes visible the contributions of the different social sectors to the national liberation, especially of the most humble and discriminated. He argues that it is important to vindicate the popular participation in the struggles for emancipation. Therefore, he argues as one of the main intellectual tasks the rescue and interpretation with depth and commitment of the process of formation of the Cuban nation, its vicissitudes and what it offers us to face the present and the future (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Martínez Heredia, 2018</xref>).</p>
				<p>In Los humildes (The humble) also created the nation, he highlights the participation of the most popular sectors in the process of shaping the Cuban nationality and nation. He explains that with their participation in the Revolution they became the bearers of the identity that defined them as Cubans, while at the same time they enriched with their libertarian practice the values that would characterize the Cuban people.</p>
				<p>The use of these texts under the guidance of the teacher contributes to the students' appropriation of arguments that favor reflective reasoning around the recognition of the fundamental contribution of the humblest sectors in the construction of the nation's homeland.</p>
				<p>The points of view and the evaluation developed by Fernando Martínez Heredia on José Martí and his revolutionary work are also considered. He highlights Marti's political practice in Cuba and the proposal of an inclusive project of social justice, focused on eliminating colonialism, stopping the nascent neocolonialism and founding a new republic with all and for the good of all.</p>
				<p>He argues José Martí's political project from a revolutionary position that endures in time and ponders its validity to sustain Cuban socialism in the face of imperial policies and the challenges of building a social project that ensures equity and social justice.</p>
				<p>In Fernando Martinez Heredia's work, the recurrences to José Martí's thought are frequent. He highlights the Apostle's visions on the history of America and Cuba, as well as the different ways in which he uses this knowledge for the development of his revolutionary social practice.</p>
				<p>The second theme: Cuban neocolonial society, its establishment and evolution. Ideological projections, allows articulating texts that highlight the theoretical and practical revolutionary work of different historical personalities, particularly in the revolutionary process of the 1930s.</p>
				<p>In this sense, it is considered to work with Noción de pueblo en la Historia me Absolverá (1973), Guiteras y la revolución (2001), ¿Por qué Julio Antonio? (2003), Introducción a la revolución cubana del 30 (2012), Guiteras y el socialismo cubano (2012), Socialismo soviético y socialismo cubano y el caso de Antonio Guiteras (2016).</p>
				<p>The work with these texts helps in the explanation of anti-imperialism as a distinctive feature of the emancipatory movement from the third decade of the twentieth century. Another distinguishing aspect is the assumption of Marxism as a doctrine that together with Marti's ideology will serve as a theoretical, political and ideological foundation in the struggles for independence and social justice, as well as the role played in them by different personalities.</p>
				<p>Antonio Guiteras, an important personality of this period, is considered an exponent of the most radical anti-imperialism and initiator of communism in Cuba, along with these aspects highlights his identification with the armed struggle, the unleashing of the popular revolution and the need to conquer political power. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Martínez Heredia, 2018</xref>, p. 950)</p>
				<p>He also highlights other fundamental figures of this revolutionary process such as Rubén Martínez Villena, Pablo de la Torriente Brau and Raúl Roa García who contributed to the radicalization of the Revolution of 30 by developing an anti-imperialism and a socialism consistent with the emancipatory needs of the Cuban nation.</p>
				<p>The relevance of the articulation of these ideas lies in the fact that it favors the understanding of why anti-imperialism characterizes the revolutionary process and defines the international projection of the Cuban people and government. In accordance with this, anti-imperialism comes to be based on marking the complex process from which Cuba was transformed into an independent and sovereign country that chose socialism as an alternative social project.</p>
				<p>In relation to the third theme: The Revolution in power. His work and significance are proposed</p>
				<p>The conception of Che (2010), The thought of Ernesto Che Guevara (2010), Socialism (2014), Cuban Revolution, Fidel and left-wing Latin American thought (2015), Cultural relations between Cuba and the United States (2017), On socialism and man in Cuba (2017) and Origins and validity of Fidel's political thought (2017).</p>
				<p>From these texts the professor leads the student to the conceptual apprehension and subsequent appropriation of knowledge related to the importance of confronting the imperialist cultural domination that prevails in the world today, as one of the manifestations of cultural domination and a way of subordinating and silencing other alternatives to annul the possibility that a better world is possible.</p>
				<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia highlights the theoretical and practical work of figures such as Ernesto Che Guevara with the purpose of taking advantage of their axiological potentialities. He considers that Che's thought is an ethical-political reference in the construction of socialism so it is assumed as an extraordinary theoretical instrument for political, ideological and cultural formation. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Martínez Heredia, 2018</xref>).</p>
				<p>In Origins and validity of Fidel's political thought, he specifies his contributions, from his student life to becoming a revolutionary icon of universal stature. In the same sense, he refers to the historical significance of the revolutionary triumph of January 1, 1959 and his contributions to the theoretical and practical thinking of the Latin American left, creating a socialism based on Martí's thinking, a Latin American Marxism, anti-imperialist and internationalist where the people have been the revolutionary subject of the socialist project.</p>
				<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia's assessment of Fidel Castro and the study of his thought allow us to affirm that the main ideas he develops on his thought are related to the conception of the people if it is a matter of struggle, the recognition of the historical need of anti-imperialism and internationalism, as well as the socialist alternative and the ethic that characterizes his revolutionary humanism. All of them attest to his originality and creativity in the interpretation and application of Marxism in revolutionary practice.</p>
				<p>Fernando Martínez Heredia develops a valuation of Fidel Castro that is assumed as a model of valuation of historical personalities, he considers that Fidel has been the protagonist of all the battles faced by the Cuban people and declares:</p>
				<disp-quote>
					<p>Fidel is one of the summits of political radicalism in the history of Cuba. One of those revolutionaries who had to be, in his acts, his ideas, his proposals and his projects very subversive with respect to the established order and its foundations, and very superior to what seemed possible to common sense and to the ideas shared in his time, including those of other revolutionaries. Martí and Fidel are the two summits. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Martínez Heredia, 2018</xref>, p. 1180)</p>
				</disp-quote>
				<p>The work of Fernando Martinez Heredia makes it possible to understand the performance and contributions of personalities who have marked the national history and the Cuban revolutionary process in its moments of unity and overcoming. The proposal of his texts is made in correspondence with the demands of the discipline History of Cuba and the profile of the accounting and finance professional.</p>
				<p>The work developed to articulate his work in the teaching of Cuban History was in accordance with the following algorithm.</p>
				<p>1st Systematization of the study of Fernando Martinez Heredia's work and determination of its theoretical and conceptual, ethical and ideological correspondence with the program of the discipline History of Cuba and the profile of the professional of accounting and finances.</p>
				<p>2nd Compliance with the methodological recommendations according to the demands of the teaching-learning process and the evaluation of the students' results.</p>
				<p>3rd Evaluation of the results of the fulfillment of said recommendations, identifying their feasibility and determining regularities.</p>
				<p>Taking into account the theoretical-methodological aspects previously expressed, class observations, student interviews and review of the methodological work documents were carried out, and the following insufficiencies were observed:</p>
				<p>
					<list list-type="bullet">
						<list-item>
