				<title>RESUMEN</title>
				<p>El contexto internacional, posibilita la educación ciudadana desde la integración de los contenidos, por ello el problema científico es cómo contribuir a la integración de los contenidos de Historia Universal para el desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en Secundaria Básica. El objetivo consiste en explicar la integración de los contenidos de Historia Universal para el desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en Secundaria Básica. Se utilizaron métodos investigativos, partiendo del método general dialéctico materialista. Los resultados orientan a la fundamentación de la necesaria integración de los contenidos de Historia Universal y Educación Moral y Ciudadana.</p>

			<title>Introducción</title>
			<p>La tercera Revolución Científica del mundo, la interdependencia de las ciencias y la agudización de los problemas globales, entre los que se encuentran el cambio climático y la guerra entre Rusia y Ucrania, son características del mundo contemporáneo. Por ello, es necesario lograr, desde un pensamiento interdisciplinario que permita la comprensión de los procesos de la realidad, la integración de los contenidos para contribuir a la solución de los problemas en el aprendizaje. </p>
			<p>De ahí que, en el Tercer Perfeccionamiento de la Educación cubana, en el nuevo modelo de la secundaria básica, se encuentra la necesidad de realizar investigaciones dirigidas a buscar soluciones de problemas y para esto, se hace ineludible la realización de acciones que eliminen las carencias que existen en cuanto a la integración de los contenidos.</p>
			<p>Las carencias a que se han hecho referencia están relacionadas con:</p>
			<p>Insuficiencias en la comprensión del camino dialéctico del conocimiento, que impide asimilar la historia de los objetos, fenómenos y procesos que se estudian y, en consecuencia, no se apropian de su lógica interna.</p>
			<p>En secundaria básica se manifestó la presencia en un mismo grado de contenidos de distintas épocas históricas, lo que lacera su asimilación y comprensión por los estudiantes.</p>
			<p>La vinculación de los contenidos de Historia Universal con los de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en la enseñanza secundaria, resultan escasos.</p>
			<p>Los contenidos de la secundaria básica no siempre se estudian desde la interdisciplinariedad y ello afecta su comprensión desde las exigencias de la integración como proceso esencial del nivel de desarrollo actual alcanzado por las ciencias.</p>
			<p>Resulta insuficiente el tratamiento a los contenidos de la disciplina Historia Universal, que ofrecen amplias posibilidades de integración con los de la nueva disciplina Educación para la Vida Ciudadana. </p>
			<p>Sobre el proceso de integración, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">Piñón (2011</xref>), se refiere al proceso de diferenciación e integración de las ciencias; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">Sierra (2004</xref>), plantea la necesidad de la formación de los estudiantes con una visión integradora; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">Banasco et al. (2008</xref>), explican la necesidad de la integración de las ciencias; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Limia (2013</xref>), insiste en la cooperación social; mientras que <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">Suárez (2019</xref>), argumenta la necesidad de la formación del pensamiento histórico lógico para la integración de los contenidos de Historia Universal e Historia de la Filosofía en la carrera Marxismo Leninismo e Historia que tributan a las asignaturas de la disciplina Educación para la Vida Ciudadana perteneciente al Tercer Perfeccionamiento de la Educación en Cuba.</p>
			<p>Sobre la necesidad de desarrollar la Educación para la Vida Ciudadana en la formación de los estudiantes, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Chacón et al. (2019</xref>), revelan la trascendencia de la Historia, la Educación Cívica y la Cultura Política en la contribución significativa al proceso de formación de una conciencia de identidad nacional y cultural desde el estudio del pensamiento cubano; siguiendo estos autores, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">Suárez (2019</xref>), se enfatiza en la necesidad de la formación del pensamiento histórico lógico en los estudiantes para desarrollar la educación ciudadana; en tanto, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">Lama y González (2020</xref>), declaran el significado de la Historia Universal para la formación de la cultura nacional y local en los estudiantes.</p>
			<p>Es por ello que se formula como problema científico ¿Cómo contribuir a la integración de los contenidos de Historia Universal para el desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en los estudiantes de secundaria básica? </p>

			<title>Desarrollo</title>
			<p>La integración de los contenidos de Historia Universal, una necesidad para el desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en la formación de los estudiantes de Secundaria Básica. </p>
			<p>Para considerar la importancia de la integración de los contenidos que contribuya al desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en la formación de los estudiantes de Secundaria Básica, se debe analizar el concepto de integración considerado como un “proceso complementario, lo que ha implicado la formación de equipos multidisciplinarios con tareas bien precisas y ello exige que la ciencia sea considerada como proceso de trabajo y actividad especializada” (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">Sierra, 2004</xref>, p. 62).</p>
			<p>De esta manera, la integración se realiza entre los equipos multidisciplinarios con acciones de coordinación y convivencia pacífica, dos aspectos fundamentales para relacionar los contenidos la disciplina Historia Universal que tributen al desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en la formación de los estudiantes de Secundaria Básica, ellos requieren de motivaciones, aspiraciones, intereses, capacidades y, sobre todo, deseos de hacer.</p>
			<p>En tal sentido, los estudiantes demandan, para el desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana, de aprendizajes de contenidos variados, necesitan de la caracterización del contexto internacional, que posibilita el camino para la necesaria integración de los contenidos en la medida que se transformen y complejicen los procesos y hechos de la sociedad en que viven. Para amparar los procesos de integración educativa se tiene la responsabilidad de trabajar en función de la educación ciudadana se hagan. La integración posibilita el desarrollo integral del ciudadano.</p>
			<p>Es por ello que la integración de los contenidos de la disciplina Historia Universal en Secundaria Básica, contribuye a la formación de la identidad nacional, social, regional, local, cultural y patriótica de los estudiantes como ciudadanos cubanos, al reconocimiento de sus deberes y derechos que lo tipifican como ser humano individual, pero que su vez debe cumplir ciertas normas de convivencia acorde a la sociedad que le ha tocado vivir. </p>
			<p>Esta integración adquiere importancia para el desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en los estudiantes, les permite, desde los saberes previos de 6to grado, aprender sobre la conformación de la nación, desde los conceptos de democracia, ciudadano, República que estudian por vez primera en la asignatura Historia del Mundo Antiguo al Medieval en 7mo grado, los mismos se van desarrollando en 8vo grado en la asignatura Historia del Mundo Moderno al Contemporáneo y retroalimentados en Educación Moral y Ciudadana en los tres grados.</p>
			<p>Mediante la asimilación de los contenidos de los hechos y procesos de las diferentes épocas históricas por las que ha transitado la humanidad, así como de los avances de la ciencia y la técnica por el estudio de la Revolución industrial en determinadas etapas del hombre, el adolescente adquiere los saberes que se desarrollan en la Secundaria Básica, por tanto la integración de los conocimientos, habilidades y valores, permiten desarrollar el colectivismo, la ciencia,, actitudes más responsables y respetuosas en los estudiantes, posibilitando su inclusión en todas las actividades de la patria.</p>
			<p> Es por ello que, el estudio de la Historia Universal despierta un interés extraordinario entre los estudiantes, al tener el gran privilegio de enriquecer la imaginación y creatividad en ellos. Así mismo, juega un papel fundamental en el desarrollo de sentimientos y convicciones patrióticas a partir de una profunda identificación con las tradiciones de luchas revolucionarias y la herencia cultural de los pueblos por defender la patria e instaurar un propio gobierno con la participación de todos los ciudadanos.</p>
			<p>Sobre la enseñanza de la Historia, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B5">Martí (1963</xref>), expuso: </p>
			<disp-quote>
				<p>Esta es una humanidad que se desenvuelve y se concentra en estaciones y en fases. Lo de hoy es necesario estudiar en algo los residuos de las sociedades que han vivido. Con sereno juicio, con desconfiado ánimo, con lógica rectitud, con habilidad y comparación y fino escrúpulo. (p. 76)</p>
			</disp-quote>
			<p>La obra martiana se convierte en una herramienta movilizadora del conocimiento y del comportamiento de los seres humanos, por lo que se convierte en una necesidad en el desarrollo de actividades en las clases de Historia Universal para que despierten el interés, la motivación y los sentimientos de los estudiantes.</p>
			<p>El reto actual de la enseñanza de la historia en la secundaria básica -teniendo en cuenta las modificaciones que se proponen desde el Tercer Perfeccionamiento- es la de integrar los contenidos de otras asignaturas al discurso histórico, sin que ello disminuya la especificidad de su tratamiento. Es necesario demostrar desde la clase que la solidez de los conocimientos históricos es el resultado de un acto de integración cultural, o sea, un ejercicio interdisciplinario en sí mismo. De ahí que se declare la vinculación con contenidos de varias áreas del saber donde se evidencian los nodos de disciplinas escolares abordadas de forma independiente hasta el momento, como es el caso de Educación Moral y Ciudadana.</p>
			<p>La determinación del tratamiento a los contenidos no podrá ser esquemática y dependerá del análisis que se realice en cada colectivo a partir de los resultados generales del diagnóstico y las adecuaciones propias requeridas, pero han de tenerse presente el estudio, los modos de actuación y los objetivos generales de los programas de la Educación Secundaria Básica, garantizando así, el conocimiento de las características con la cuenta la asignatura en el grado correspondiente. No obstante, en los programas de Historia Universal es insuficiente el tratamiento a los aspectos generales de Educación Moral y Ciudadana, que contribuye al desarrollo de la educación ciudadana en los estudiantes de Educación Secundaria Básica. </p>
			<p>Además, existen dos problemáticas que constituyen verdaderos desafíos presentes para la disciplina Historia Universal en secundaria básica, en tal sentido se asumen las deficiencias plasmadas por:</p>
			<p>Insuficiente tratamiento a la participación de los ciudadanos en las diferentes etapas del desarrollo de la humanidad, que permite comprender su continuidad. </p>
			<p>Las actividades integradoras relacionadas con la participación ciudadana, la equidad, la tolerancia y la inclusión, no está en los niveles deseados.</p>
			<p>Insuficiente trabajo para establecer la relación entre la identidad personal, identidad ciudadana social e identidad nacional de los ciudadanos.</p>
			<p>Insuficiente tratamiento al pensamiento martiano y fidelista, como contenido esencial de la disciplina Educación para la Vida Ciudadana.</p>
			<p>La referida a las carencias que poseen los estudiantes en cuanto a la formación y el desarrollo del pensamiento dialéctico, lo que dificulta la comprensión de los fenómenos, objetos y procesos de la realidad para comprender el contexto espacio-temporal en el que actúan como ciudadanos.</p>
			<p>El insuficiente tratamiento a la integración de los contenidos de Historia Universal para el desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana.</p>
			<p>A pesar de estas insuficiencias, el programa de Historia Universal en la Educación Secundaria Básica, del Tercer Perfeccionamiento, posee diferentes fortalezas:</p>
			<p>Permite el cumplimiento de las reglas de convivencia, las normas y metas establecidas en su contexto familiar, en el grupo escolar, en su institución y en la sociedad, al estudiar el potencial histórico, jurídico, cultural y ciudadano de la historia universal, de Cuba y sus localidades, rechazando todo tipo de discriminación, violencia y corrupción.</p>
			<p>Se identifica en el devenir histórico, el potencial jurídico, cultural y ciudadano que emana del estudio de acontecimientos y procesos históricos universales (aspectos o categorías que se estudian en Educación Moral y Ciudadana).</p>
			<p>Se explican los rasgos de la democracia ateniense, se profundiza, además, en el concepto de ciudadano que se tenía en Atenas y para corroborar las limitantes que existían en la esfera moral-jurídica en el marco de una sociedad esclavista.</p>
			<p>Se interrelaciona el individuo con el colectivo; el movimiento social.</p>
			<p>Por tanto, en el programa de Historia Universal existen debilidades en cuanto al tratamiento de las categorías de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana.</p>
			<p>La propuesta que se presenta, responde a la búsqueda de acciones que propicien las exigencias del nuevo Perfeccionamiento de la Educación, el cual posibilita la integración de los contenidos de Historia Universal para el desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en la secundaria básica. </p>
			<p>Por su parte la Educación Moral y Ciudadana, según <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Chacón et al. (2019</xref>), </p>
			<disp-quote>
				<p>(…) debe contribuir a la formación de los fundamentos de la cultura ciudadana del estudiante, en cuyo núcleo se encuentran los contenidos de las bases históricas del civismo: ético-morales, políticos y jurídicos, en interacción con las restantes formas ideológicas de la conciencia social, para su participación autorregulada en el espacio público de la construcción del socialismo en Cuba, de su proyecto de vida como ciudadano revolucionario cubano, trabajador honesto, decente, conocedor y respetuoso de la ley y sus principios, protagonista de derechos y deberes personales y colectivos, sobre la base de la consolidación de su identidad nacional y el orgullo patriótico por la memoria histórica revolucionaria del pueblo cubano. (p. 9)</p>
			</disp-quote>
			<p>Esta asignatura posibilita los conocimientos de la Constitución de la República de Cuba y de otras leyes como la Ley de Símbolos Nacionales y el Código de las Familias que todo ciudadano cubano debe tener presente. En la Educación Moral y Ciudadana, se logra la integración de los contenidos con los componentes para la educación integral del educando, con mayor énfasis en los comportamientos ciudadanos. Se logra una actualización de los contenidos en correspondencia con los nuevos enfoques, tanto del conocimiento de las Ciencias Sociales como de la Didáctica. Se resalta el estudio de la ética Martiana y Fidelista.</p>
			<p>Para el desempeño de los estudiantes, en la asignatura Educación Moral y Ciudadana en 7mo, 8vo y 9no grados, se requiere de un aprendizaje integrado que, con sus desafíos, posibilita elevar la significación de la integración de los contenidos, permitiendo la participación de los estudiantes como el eje en torno al cual se despliegan todas las potencialidades del conocimiento asimilado.</p>
			<p>La Historia Universal, según <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">Lama y González (2020</xref>):</p>
			<disp-quote>
				<p>Es la rendición de cuenta de una sociedad. Por ello la trascendencia de que los escolares se apropien de una cultura histórica que potencie el desarrollo de la identidad nacional, latinoamericana y tercer mundista, del sentido de pertenencia, que asimilen las tradiciones nacionales y universales. Se trata de una cultura que ubicada en tiempo y espacio que nos permita conocer el pasado, la autocomprensión del presente y la proyección transformadora hacia el futuro, es decir, es necesario revelar el sentido progresivo y de continuidad del proceso histórico. (p. 9)</p>
			</disp-quote>
			<p>Se coincide con este investigador, aunque es necesario exponer que la Historia Universal contribuye también, a la formación de una cultura ciudadana, a la identidad ciudadana social. Esto se pone de manifiesto en el estudio de las civilizaciones del esclavismo clásico de la Historia del Mundo Antiguo al Mundo Medieval, en 7mo grado, en los cuales se trabajan conceptos como democracia, ciudadano, senado y otros, que el estudiante debe conocer y aplicar en su desarrollo para ejercer la ciudadanía responsable en Cuba. </p>
			<p>La disciplina Historia Universal, en el Tercer Perfeccionamiento, en 7mo grado, presenta un carácter multiforme del tránsito de las sociedades comunitaria a las tributaria, esclavista y feudal. En él se puede trabajar los contenidos que tributan a la inclusión, al analizar las características de las sociedades esclavista en la cual los esclavos y las mujeres eran excluidos de la sociedad, sin deberes y derechos, a la vez que se pueden elaborar actividades integradoras relacionadas con la participación de los hombres en el desarrollo socioeconómico de la sociedad como es el caso de las civilizaciones del Oriente Antiguo.</p>
			<p>En 8vo grado se integran en un solo programa, en el que se sigue la lógica del contenido histórico que se trata y favorece su sistematización en un solo grado y permite la utilización de un solo libro de texto que abarque la Historia Moderna y la Contemporánea. “Del mundo moderno al contemporáneo”. En este grado se estudia el surgimiento y desarrollo del capitalismo hasta su fase imperialista, por lo que se le debe dar tratamiento a la actitud y a la participación de los ciudadanos en la defensa de su pueblo, a la identidad ciudadana social y a la necesaria equidad, es necesario analizar, además, el pensamiento martiano sobre el capitalismo.</p>
			<p>La integración de los contenidos en la formación de los estudiantes de la secundaria básica</p>
			<p>En épocas pasadas respecto a la integración de las ciencias se encuentran los aportes de diferentes filósofos desde la Grecia Antigua, los cuales reconocen la importancia de la especialización de la actividad como resultado de la división social del trabajo. <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">Platón (1871</xref>) (IV, a. n. e), fue uno de los primeros en pensar la ciencia con una visión integradora, propuso la relación entre la gramática, la retórica y la música: esta tendencia fue continuada por la escuela de Alejandría de orientación neoplatónica. </p>
			<p>Posteriormente, con el desarrollo científico tecnológico de la sociedad se ha hecho significativo la integración de los contenidos en los procesos educativos. Es por ello, la necesidad de la integración de los contenidos y cambios en los programas, disciplinas, asignaturas. De este modo, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">Banasco et al. (2008</xref>), plantean las tendencias del desarrollo histórico de la ciencia para el entendimiento del enfoque integrador de la educación en las instituciones educativas: “ellas son: integración de los conocimientos, diferenciación de estos, y diferenciación-integración, cuyo reflejo se manifiesta en el contenido de enseñanza-aprendizaje” (p. 31).</p>
			<p>Esta integración tiene sus orígenes en el desarrollo de las ciencias que muestra, desde finales del siglo XIX, sus interacciones y alcanza su máximo exponente en la tercera revolución científico-técnica con su tendencia integradora, para revelar los complejos problemas de la realidad. “El desarrollo del conocimiento científico tecnológico demuestra su carácter contradictorio; cuanto más se desarrolla la diferenciación de las ciencias, tanto más se crean las posibilidades para su integración” (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">Piñón, 2011</xref>, p. 17). </p>
			<p>El desarrollo de la ciencia describe dos procesos que se interrelacionan: uno dirigido a la búsqueda de las determinaciones más esenciales (objeto de investigación de las ciencias particulares, que promueve la especialización en el dominio del objeto de investigación), y otro que se orienta la búsqueda de puntos de encuentros y marcos integradores. Esta constituye una de las tendencias del desarrollo de la ciencia y de la tecnología en la actualidad.</p>
			<p>Como derivación, en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje se evidencia la contradicción entre la continua especialización en las disciplinas y la indispensable integración de los contenidos de dichas disciplinas en un sistema ordenado. Mientras mayor es la especialización, mayor es la ineludible integración de esos contenidos que poseen puntos de contacto entre sí; por tal razón la integración constituye un proceso que exige de la búsqueda de las relaciones que existen entre los elementos que conforman ese sistema ordenado, conformado por las disciplinas a que se hace referencia.</p>
			<p>Para analizar la importancia que tiene la integración de los contenidos en la formación de los estudiantes de secundaria básica se inicia por entender el concepto de integración. Para <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">Pérez y Merino (2008</xref>), “…la integración siempre supone el esfuerzo coordinado, la planeación conjunta y la convivencia pacífica entre los sectores que conforman el grupo. Esa es la única forma donde las partes pueden constituir un todo, aún sin perder su individualidad” (p. 2).</p>
			<p>De esta manera se enfatiza la integración entre los grupos con acciones de coordinación y convivencia pacífica, dos aspectos fundamentales para los contenidos de Historia Universal que contribuyen al desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en la formación de los estudiantes de Educación Secundaria Básica, ellos requieren de motivaciones, aspiraciones, intereses, capacidades y, sobre todo, de deseos de hacer. Por tanto, los estudiantes, demandan aprendizajes de contenidos muy disímiles, necesitan de la caracterización del contexto histórico-social, que allana el camino para la necesaria integración de los conocimientos, habilidades y valores en la medida que se transformen y complejicen los procesos y hechos de la sociedad en que vive.</p>
			<p>Los contenidos de las disciplinas Historia Universal se interconectan con los de Educación Moral y Ciudadana, mediante la labor interdisciplinaria en la preparación integral de los docentes. En tal sentido la disciplina Educación Moral y Ciudadana presenta determinados contenidos de las disciplinas de Historia Universal, que expresan su significación, para la formación de la identidad ciudadana social, nacional y cultural, fundamentado en la ideología de la Revolución Cubana, que permite el estudio del pensamiento cubano relacionado el Marxismo y el Leninismo, tercer mundista y latinoamericanista. </p>
			<p>Las disciplinas Historia Universal y Educación Moral y Ciudadana presentan ejes temáticos que se encuentran en todos los contenidos, como es el caso de la concepción cultural e identitaria que promueve la comprensión del verdadero sentido de la cultura y su expresión en valores; la comprensión de la naturaleza práctico-espiritual del pensamiento; el condicionamiento económico, político, socio-clasista e ideo-cultural que favorecen el desarrollo del hombre, atendiendo a los diferentes épocas y contextos históricos que le ha tocado vivir.</p>
			<p>Por tal motivo, la integración permite reflejar en el contenido el objeto de estudio, tiene sus gérmenes en los nexos entre las asignaturas, que determinan las interrelaciones dialécticas, las cuales actúan objetivamente en la naturaleza y son conocidas por las ciencias actuales. </p>
			<p>Los contenidos del programa de la asignatura Historia del Mundo Antiguo al Medieval comprenden la historia universal desde el proceso de hominización hasta la decadencia de la formación económico-social feudal y la gestación en ella de la sociedad capitalista, pero es necesario darle tratamiento, desde el estudio de las diferentes civilizaciones del esclavismo clásico, a la participación ciudadana, las normas de convivencia social, la inclusión y el respeto por la patria, temas que se encuentran débilmente tratados en el programa y que permiten, a partir de las actividades integradoras elaboradas y orientadas por los docentes, el desarrollo de la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en los estudiantes.</p>
			<p>Por otra parte, los contenidos del programa de la asignatura Historia del Mundo Moderno al Contemporáneo en 8vo grado, están interconectados entre sí y se refieren a los hechos y procesos históricos más significativos de las etapas mercantil, industrial y monopolista del capitalismo, desde el siglo XVII al XXI. Además, se estudia la gestación y el desarrollo de una nueva sociedad: la socialista. Se hace necesario profundizar en la toma de conciencia de los ciudadanos en la transformación de la sociedad a su beneficio, así como en la participación por el cuidado y conservación del medio ambiente por la agravación de los problemas medio ambientales, aspectos que se le da tratamiento en la asignatura Educación Moral y Ciudadana. </p>
			<p>El programa de Educación Moral y Ciudadana de 7mo grado, contribuye al desarrollo de la identidad ciudadana social, nacional y cultural; sus saberes previos se encuentran en la asignatura Educación Ciudadana en el Tercer Momento del Desarrollo de la Educación Primaria. Sus contenidos están dirigidos a la formación de los valores cívicos, morales y jurídicos en los estudiantes, así como a los fundamentos de la cultura jurídica desde el conocimiento de la Constitución de la República de Cuba. Esta asignatura posibilita el trabajo para desarrollar la participación activa de los adolescentes en las diferentes actividades del medio en que se desarrolla.</p>
			<p>El programa de Educación Moral y Ciudadana en octavo grado, se refiere al conocimiento del sistema de legalidad socialista en Cuba, de las normas jurídicas que determinan del Estado, contribuye al desarrollo de la responsabilidad y la participación ciudadana de la familia, la escuela y la comunidad en todas las actividades de la sociedad. </p>
			<p>La asignatura tiene como objetivo principal valorar el papel y la responsabilidad de la familia en la preparación de los adolescentes cubanos en la construcción de la sociedad cubana en el actual contexto histórico, la necesidad de desarrollar en ellos sentimientos de amor y respeto hacia la familia y desarrolle aptitudes ante los deberes y derechos en el marco de la familia. Los contenidos pueden ser tratados en la asignatura Historia del Mundo Moderno al Contemporáneo en la unidad de la Revolución Burguesa Francesa, precisamente al analizar la Constitución de Francia y sus normas jurídicas, pero se necesita la preparación metodológica del colectivo de profesores para seleccionar los contenidos comunes de ambas asignaturas.</p>
			<p>Una de las categorías que se encuentra presente en las disciplinas Historia Universal y Educación Moral y Ciudadana en la Educación Secundaria Básica es el ciudadano, el mismo, posee como antecedente el surgimiento y desarrollo de las ciudades, (elemento este que se estudia en la etapa medieval), lo cual es producto del desarrollo de las condiciones socioeconómicas, de esta manera este proceso conlleva, ineludiblemente, a la división de la sociedad en clases sociales emergiendo la estructura política de la sociedad y el establecimiento de determinados derechos y deberes políticos en correspondencia con la posición económica que se ocupa en la ciudad. Asimismo, el ciudadano exige de una educación que lo prepare para realizar sus actividades sociales desde edades tempranas en Cuba.</p>
			<p>Para la determinación de los contenidos que se pueden integrar de Historia Universal, que contribuyan a la Educación Moral y Ciudadana en la Educación Secundaria Básica, se seleccionan los más comunes, ellos pueden formar parte de un temario <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B11">Yániz y Villardón (2006</xref>). La organización en lecciones o en bloques según áreas amplias de una disciplina. Es por ello que, se presenta la siguiente relación de contenidos de Historia Universal que se pueden integrar con Educación Moral y Ciudadana como se expresa en la <xref ref-type="table" rid="t1">tabla 1</xref>.</p>

				<title>ABSTRACT</title>
				<p>The international context makes possible the citizenship education from the integration of the contents, therefore the scientific problem is how to contribute to the integration of the contents of Universal History for the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in Basic Secondary Education. The objective is to explain the integration of the contents of Universal History for the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in Basic Secondary Education. Research methods were used, starting from the general dialectical-materialistic method. The results are oriented to the foundation of the necessary integration of the contents of Universal History and Moral and Citizenship Education.</p>

				<title>Introduction</title>
				<p>The world's third Scientific Revolution, the interdependence of the sciences and the intensification of global problems, including climate change and the war between Russia and Ukraine, are characteristics of the contemporary world. Therefore, it is necessary to achieve, from an interdisciplinary thinking that allows the understanding of the processes of reality, the integration of contents to contribute to the solution of problems in learning.</p>
				<p>Hence, in the Third Improvement of Cuban Education, in the new model of basic secondary education, there is a need to carry out research aimed at finding solutions to problems and for this, it is unavoidable to carry out actions to eliminate the existing deficiencies in terms of the integration of contents.</p>
				<p>The deficiencies that have been referred to are related to:</p>
				<p>Insufficiencies in the understanding of the dialectical path of knowledge, which prevents assimilating the history of the objects, phenomena and processes being studied and, consequently, they do not appropriate their internal logic.</p>
				<p>In lower secondary school, the presence in the same grade of contents from different historical periods was evident, which hinders their assimilation and comprehension by students.</p>
				<p>The linking of the contents of Universal History with those of Moral and Citizenship Education in secondary education is scarce.</p>
				<p>The contents of basic secondary education are not always studied from an interdisciplinary perspective, and this affects their understanding from the point of view of the demands of integration as an essential process of the current level of development reached by the sciences.</p>
				<p>There is insufficient treatment of the contents of the discipline of Universal History, which offer ample possibilities of integration with those of the new discipline Education for Civic Life.</p>
				<p>Regarding the integration process, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">Piñón (2011</xref>), refers to the process of differentiation and integration of the sciences; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">Sierra (2004</xref>), states the need to train students with an integrative vision; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">Banasco et al. (2008</xref>), explain the need for the integration of sciences; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Limia (2013</xref>), insists on social cooperation; while <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">Suárez (2019</xref>), argues the need for the formation of logical historical thinking for the integration of the contents of Universal History and History of Philosophy in the Marxism Leninism and History course that tributary to the subjects of the discipline Education for Citizen Life belonging to the Third Improvement of Education in Cuba.</p>
				<p>On the need to develop Education for Citizen Life in the formation of students, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Chacón et al. (2019</xref>), reveal the transcendence of History, Civic Education and Political Culture in the significant contribution to the process of forming a consciousness of national and cultural identity from the study of Cuban thought; following these authors, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">Suárez (2019</xref>), emphasizes the need for the formation of logical historical thinking in students to develop citizenship education; meanwhile, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">Lama and González (2020</xref>), state the significance of Universal History for the formation of national and local culture in students.</p>
				<p>That is why it is formulated as a scientific problem: How to contribute to the integration of the contents of Universal History for the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in elementary school students?</p>
				<p>The objective of the article is to explain the integration of the contents of Universal History for the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in elementary school students.</p>
			</sec>
			<sec sec-type="results">
				<title>Development</title>
				<p>The integration of the contents of World History, a necessity for the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in the formation of Basic Secondary School students.</p>
				<p>In order to consider the importance of the integration of contents that contributes to the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in the education of Basic Secondary School students, it is necessary to analyze the concept of integration considered as a &quot;complementary process, which has implied the formation of multidisciplinary teams with very precise tasks and this requires that science be considered as a work process and specialized activity&quot; (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">Sierra, 2004</xref>, p. 62).</p>
				<p>In this way, integration is carried out among multidisciplinary teams with actions of coordination and peaceful coexistence, two fundamental aspects to relate the contents of the discipline of Universal History that contribute to the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in the formation of students of Basic Secondary Education, they require motivations, aspirations, interests, capacities and, above all, desires to do.</p>
				<p>In this sense, students demand, for the development of Moral and Citizenship Education, the learning of varied contents, they need the characterization of the international context, which makes possible the way for the necessary integration of the contents as the processes and facts of the society in which they live are transformed and become more complex. In order to support the processes of educational integration, it is our responsibility to work in terms of citizenship education. Integration makes possible the integral development of the citizen.</p>
				<p>That is why the integration of the contents of the discipline of Universal History in Basic Secondary Education contributes to the formation of the national, social, regional, local, cultural and patriotic identity of students as Cuban citizens, to the recognition of their duties and rights that typify them as individual human beings, but who in turn must comply with certain rules of coexistence according to the society in which they live.</p>
				<p>This integration acquires importance for the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in the students, allowing them, from the previous knowledge of 6th grade, to learn about the conformation of the nation, from the concepts of democracy, citizen, Republic that they study for the first time in the subject History of the Ancient to Medieval World in 7th grade, the same are developed in 8th grade in the subject History of the Modern to Contemporary World and fed back in Moral and Citizenship Education in the three grades.</p>
				<p>Through the assimilation of the contents of the facts and processes of the different historical periods through which humanity has passed, as well as the advances in science and technology through the study of the Industrial Revolution in certain stages of mankind, the adolescent acquires the knowledge that is developed in Basic Secondary School, therefore the integration of knowledge, skills and values, allow the development of collectivism, science, more responsible and respectful attitudes in students, enabling their inclusion in all activities of the homeland.</p>
				<p>That is why the study of World History awakens an extraordinary interest among students, as it has the great privilege of enriching their imagination and creativity. It also plays a fundamental role in the development of patriotic feelings and convictions based on a deep identification with the traditions of revolutionary struggles and the cultural heritage of the people to defend the homeland and establish their own government with the participation of all citizens.</p>
				<p>On the teaching of history, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B5">Martí (1963</xref>), stated:</p>
				<disp-quote>
					<p>This is a humanity that unfolds and concentrates in seasons and phases. Today it is necessary to study in something the residues of the societies that have lived. With serene judgment, with distrustful spirit, with logical rectitude, with skill and comparison and fine scruple (p. 76).</p>
				</disp-quote>
				<p>Marti's work becomes a mobilizing tool for the knowledge and behavior of human beings, so it becomes a necessity in the development of activities in Universal History classes to awaken the interest, motivation and feelings of students.</p>
				<p>The current challenge of teaching history at the lower secondary level - taking into account the modifications proposed by the Third Improvement Program - is to integrate the contents of other subjects into the historical discourse, without diminishing the specificity of its treatment. It is necessary to demonstrate from the classroom that the solidity of historical knowledge is the result of an act of cultural integration, that is, an interdisciplinary exercise in itself. Hence, the linkage with contents of several areas of knowledge is declared, where the nodes of school disciplines approached independently until now are evident, as is the case of Moral and Citizenship Education.</p>
				<p>The determination of the treatment of the contents cannot be schematic and will depend on the analysis carried out in each group based on the general results of the diagnosis and the required adaptations, but the study, the modes of action and the general objectives of the Basic Secondary Education programs must be taken into account, thus guaranteeing the knowledge of the characteristics of the subject in the corresponding grade. However, in the Universal History programs there is insufficient treatment of the general aspects of Moral and Citizenship Education, which contributes to the development of citizenship education in students of Basic Secondary Education.</p>
				<p>In addition, there are two problems that constitute real challenges for the discipline of World History in basic secondary education, in this sense; we assume the deficiencies expressed by:</p>
				<p>Insufficient treatment to the participation of citizens in the different stages of the development of humanity, which allows understanding its continuity.</p>
				<p>The integrating activities related to citizen participation, equity, tolerance and inclusion are not at the desired levels.</p>
				<p>Insufficient work to establish the relationship between personal identity, social citizen identity and national identity of citizens.</p>
				<p>Insufficient treatment of Marti's and Fidel´s thought, as essential content of the discipline Education for Civic Life.</p>
				<p>The one referred to the deficiencies that students have regarding the formation and development of dialectical thinking, which makes it difficult to understand the phenomena, objects and processes of reality in order to understand the spatio-temporal context in which they act as citizens.</p>
				<p>The insufficient treatment to the integration of the contents of Universal History for the development of Moral and Citizenship Education.</p>
				<p>In spite of these inadequacies, the program of Universal History in Basic Secondary Education, of the Third Improvement, has different strengths:</p>
				<p>It allows compliance with the rules of coexistence, norms and goals established in its family context, in the school group, in its institution and in society, by studying the historical, legal, cultural and citizen potential of universal history, of Cuba and its localities, rejecting all types of discrimination, violence and corruption.</p>
				<p>It is identified in the historical becoming, the juridical, cultural and citizen potential that emanates from the study of universal historical events and processes (aspects or categories studied in Moral and Citizenship Education).</p>
				<p>The features of Athenian democracy are explained, and the concept of citizenship in Athens is explored in depth, in order to corroborate the limitations that existed in the moral-legal sphere within the framework of a slave-owning society.</p>
				<p>The individual is interrelated with the collective; the social movement.</p>
				<p>Therefore, in the Universal History program there are weaknesses in the treatment of the categories of Moral and Citizenship Education.</p>
				<p>The proposal presented here responds to the search for actions that favor the demands of the new Improvement of Education, which makes possible the integration of the contents of Universal History for the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in basic secondary education.</p>
				<p>For its part, Moral and Citizenship Education, according to <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Chacón et al. (2019</xref>),</p>
				<disp-quote>
					<p> (...) must contribute to the formation of the foundations of the student's civic culture, at the core of which are the contents of the historical bases of civics: ethical-moral, political and legal, in interaction with the remaining ideological forms of social consciousness, for his self-regulated participation in the public space of the construction of socialism in Cuba, of his life project as a Cuban revolutionary citizen, honest, decent worker, knowledgeable and respectful of the law and its principles, protagonist of personal and collective rights and duties, on the basis of the consolidation of his national identity and patriotic pride in the revolutionary historical memory of the Cuban people. (p. 9)</p>
				</disp-quote>
				<p>This subject provides knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba and other laws such as the Law of National Symbols and the Family Code, which every Cuban citizen should be aware of. In Moral and Citizenship Education, the integration of the contents with the components for the integral education of the student is achieved, with greater emphasis on citizen behaviors. The contents are updated in accordance with the new approaches, both in the knowledge of Social Sciences and Didactics. The study of Marti's and Fidel's ethics is highlighted.</p>
				<p>For the students' performance in the subject Moral and Citizenship Education in 7th, 8th and 9th grades, an integrated learning is required which, with its challenges, makes it possible to raise the significance of the integration of the contents, allowing the students' participation as the axis around which all the potentialities of the assimilated knowledge are deployed.</p>
				<p>Universal History, according to <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">Lama and González (2020</xref>):</p>
				<disp-quote>
					<p>It is the accountability of a society. That is why it is so important for schoolchildren to appropriate a historical culture that fosters the development of national, Latin American and third world identity, a sense of belonging, and the assimilation of national and universal traditions. It is about a culture located in time and space that allows us to know the past, the self-understanding of the present and the transforming projection towards the future, that is to say, it is necessary to reveal the progressive sense and continuity of the historical process. (p. 9).</p>
				</disp-quote>
				<p>We agree with this researcher, although it is necessary to state that Universal History also contributes to the formation of a civic culture, to the social civic identity. This is evidenced in the study of civilizations from classical slavery, from the History of the Ancient World to the Medieval World, in 7th grade, in which concepts such as democracy, citizenship, senate and others are worked on, which the student must know and apply in his development to exercise responsible citizenship in Cuba.</p>
				<p>The discipline of Universal History, in the Third Improvement, in 7th grade, presents a multiform character of the transition from communitarian societies to tributary, slave and feudal societies. It is possible to work on the contents that contribute to inclusion, by analyzing the characteristics of slave societies in which slaves and women were excluded from society, without duties and rights, while at the same time integrating activities related to the participation of men in the socioeconomic development of society can be developed, as in the case of the civilizations of the Ancient East.</p>
				<p>In 8th grade they are integrated into a single program, which follows the logic of the historical content being treated and favors its systematization in a single grade and allows the use of a single textbook covering Modern and Contemporary History. &quot;From the Modern to the Contemporary World&quot;. In this grade, the emergence and development of capitalism up to its imperialist phase is studied, so the attitude and participation of citizens in the defense of their people, the social citizen identity and the necessary equity must be treated, it is also necessary to analyze Marti's thought on capitalism.</p>
				<p>The integration of the contents in the formation of students in basic secondary school.</p>
				<p>In past times regarding the integration of sciences, we find the contributions of different philosophers since Ancient Greece, who recognize the importance of the specialization of activity as a result of the social division of labor. <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">Platón (1871</xref>) (IV, b. n. e), was one of the first to think science with an integrating vision, he proposed the relationship between grammar, rhetoric and music: this tendency was continued by the school of Alexandria of neoplatonic orientation.</p>
				<p>Subsequently, with the scientific and technological development of society, the integration of contents in educational processes has become significant. Therefore, the need for the integration of contents and changes in programs, disciplines, subjects. Thus, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">Banasco et al. (2008</xref>), state the trends of the historical development of science for the understanding of the integrative approach to education in educational institutions: &quot;they are: integration of knowledge, differentiation of knowledge, and differentiation-integration, whose reflection is manifested in the teaching-learning content&quot; (p. 31).</p>
				<p>This integration has its origins in the development of the sciences that shows, since the end of the 19th century, their interactions and reaches its maximum exponent in the third scientific-technical revolution with its integrative tendency, to reveal the complex problems of reality. &quot;The development of scientific-technological knowledge demonstrates its contradictory character; the more the differentiation of sciences develops, the more the possibilities for their integration are created&quot; (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">Piñón, 2011</xref>, p. 17).</p>
				<p>The development of science describes two interrelated processes: one aimed at the search for the most essential determinations (object of research of particular sciences, which promotes specialization in the domain of the object of research), and the other is oriented towards the search for meeting points and integrative frameworks. This is one of the trends in the development of science and technology today.</p>
				<p>As a consequence, in the teaching-learning process there is a contradiction between the continuous specialization in the disciplines and the indispensable integration of the contents of these disciplines in an orderly system. The greater the specialization, the greater the unavoidable integration of those contents that have points of contact with each other; for this reason, integration is a process that requires the search for the relationships that exist between the elements that make up that ordered system, formed by the disciplines referred to.</p>
				<p>In order to analyze the importance of content integration in the education of elementary school students, the first step is to understand the concept of integration. For <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">Pérez and Merino (2008</xref>), &quot;...integration always involves coordinated effort, joint planning and peaceful coexistence among the sectors that make up the group. This is the only way in which the parts can constitute a whole, even without losing their individuality&quot; (p. 2).</p>
				<p>In this way, the integration between groups is emphasized with actions of coordination and peaceful coexistence, two fundamental aspects for the contents of Universal History that contribute to the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in the formation of students of Basic Secondary Education, they require motivations, aspirations, interests, capacities and, above all, desires to do. Therefore, students demand learning of very dissimilar contents, they need the characterization of the historical-social context, which paves the way for the necessary integration of knowledge, skills and values to the extent that the processes and facts of the society in which they live are transformed and become more complex.</p>
				<p>The contents of the Universal History disciplines are interconnected with those of Moral and Citizenship Education, through interdisciplinary work in the integral preparation of teachers. In this sense, the discipline of Moral and Citizenship Education presents certain contents of the disciplines of Universal History, which express its significance for the formation of social, national and cultural citizenship identity, based on the ideology of the Cuban Revolution, which allows the study of Cuban thought related to Marxism and Leninism, third world and Latin Americanism.</p>
				<p>The disciplines Universal History and Moral and Citizenship Education present thematic axes that are found in all the contents, as is the case of the cultural and identity conception that promotes the understanding of the true meaning of culture and its expression in values; the understanding of the practical-spiritual nature of thought; the economic, political, socio-classist and ideo-cultural conditioning that favor the development of man, taking into account the different times and historical contexts in which he has had to live.</p>
				<p>For this reason, integration makes it possible to reflect in the content the object of study, has its germs in the links between subjects, which determine the dialectical interrelations, which act objectively in nature and are known by current sciences.</p>
				<p>The contents of the program of the subject History of the Ancient World to the Medieval comprise the universal history from the process of hominization to the decadence of the feudal economic-social formation and the gestation in it of the capitalist society, but it is necessary to give treatment, from the study of the different civilizations of the classic slavery, to citizen participation, the norms of social coexistence, inclusion and respect for the homeland, topics that are weakly treated in the program and that allow, from the integrating activities elaborated and oriented by the teachers, the development of Moral and Citizenship Education in the students.</p>
				<p>On the other hand, the contents of the program of the subject History of the Modern and Contemporary World in 8th grade are interconnected and refer to the most significant historical facts and processes of the mercantile, industrial and monopolistic stages of capitalism, from the 17th to the 21st century. In addition, the gestation and development of a new society is studied: the socialist one. It is necessary to deepen the awareness of citizens in the transformation of society to their benefit, as well as in the participation for the care and conservation of the environment due to the aggravation of environmental problems, aspects that are treated in the subject of Moral and Citizenship Education.</p>
				<p>The 7th grade Moral and Citizenship Education program contributes to the development of social, national and cultural citizenship identity; its previous knowledge is found in the subject of Citizenship Education in the Third Developmental Stage of Primary Education. Its contents are aimed at the formation of civic, moral and legal values in students, as well as the foundations of legal culture from the knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba. This subject enables the work to develop the active participation of adolescents in the different activities of the environment in which it is developed.</p>
				<p>The program of Moral and Citizenship Education in eighth grade refers to the knowledge of the system of socialist legality in Cuba, of the legal norms that determine the State, contributes to the development of responsibility and citizen participation of the family, the school and the community in all activities of society.</p>
				<p>The main objective of the subject is to value the role and responsibility of the family in the preparation of Cuban adolescents in the construction of Cuban society in the current historical context, the need to develop in them feelings of love and respect towards the family and to develop aptitudes before the duties and rights in the framework of the family. The contents can be treated in the subject History of the Modern and Contemporary World in the unit of the French Bourgeois Revolution, precisely when analyzing the French Constitution and its legal norms, but the methodological preparation of the teachers' collective is needed to select the common contents of both subjects.</p>
				<p>One of the categories present in the disciplines of Universal History and Moral and Citizenship Education in Basic Secondary Education is the citizen, which has as its antecedent the emergence and development of cities (this element is studied in the medieval period), which is the product of the development of socioeconomic conditions, in this way this process leads, inevitably, to the division of society into social classes emerging the political structure of society and the establishment of certain political rights and duties in correspondence with the economic position occupied in the city. Likewise, the citizen demands an education that prepares him to carry out his social activities from an early age in Cuba.</p>
				<p>In order to determine the contents that can be integrated into Universal History, which contribute to Moral and Citizenship Education in Basic Secondary Education, the most common contents are selected, which can be part of a syllabus <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B11">Yániz and Villardón (2006</xref>). The organization in lessons or in blocks according to broad areas of a discipline. For this reason, the following list of Universal History contents that can be integrated with Moral and Citizenship Education is presented, as shown in <xref ref-type="table" rid="t2">table 1</xref>.</p>
