El libro Ciencia Tecnología y desarrollo. Nuevos desafíos para el campo CTS en Argentina, de la Editorial Universidad Nacional de Quilmes, ISBN 978-987-558-741-0, narra las jornadas que constituyeron una experiencia fructífera y enriquecedora que permitió no solo reflexionar acerca de la relevancia social de los temas de análisis predominantes en el campo de los estudios sociales de la ciencia y la tecnología, sino que también favoreció el intercambio constructivo e inteligente entre diferentes disciplinas, enfoques y objetos de análisis, donde los investigadores en formación pudieron presentar sus avances de investigación y recibir orientaciones, recomendaciones y comentarios por parte de investigadores formados, que además forman parte de los equipos docentes de las diferentes maestrías convocadas para las jornadas.
Los días 17 y 18 de septiembre de 2018 se desarrollaron en la Universidad Metropolitana (Argentina), para la Educación y el Trabajo (UMET) las IV Jornadas Internacionales de Estudios sobre Tecnología y Sociedad; con el objetivo de impulsar el intercambio académico entre investigadores en ciencia, tecnología y sociedad (CTS) y fomentar el trabajo en cooperación entre institutos, centros de investigación y posgrados CTS en Argentina y América Latina.
Los trabajos presentados y discutidos en estas jornadas internacionales de estudios sobre tecnología y sociedad constituyeron una renovación no solo de los enfoques analíticos y de los casos de estudio, sino también, y sobre todo, de la relevancia política y social de los resultados perseguidos en cada una de las investigaciones presentadas.

Los estudios de ciencia, tecnología y sociedad (CTS) contribuyen a reflexionar sobre el papel, las características, los consensos y conflictos, la viabilidad y los obstáculos de este proceso de relación de conocimientos, artefactos y sistemas, instituciones y grupos sociales. El conjunto de artículos de jóvenes investigadores/as que reúne este libro se inscribe en este contexto y constituye una apuesta por dinamizar el campo de CTS en la Argentina. La diversidad de trabajos y enfoques que aquí se presentan estimula el diálogo y el debate en torno a la necesidad de plantear nuevas estrategias que articulen desarrollo productivo, sustentabilidad ambiental e inclusión social.
