			<title>Introducción</title>
			<p>Los procesos de perfeccionamiento del sistema educativo en Cuba se ha dirigido a elevar la calidad de la educación y se ha constituido en propósito de trabajo sistemático y progresivo en diversos momentos del desarrollo histórico, que toma en cuenta los adelantos científico- tecnológicos para poner al hombre a nivel de su tiempo.</p>
			<p>En esta dirección, se ha priorizado el proceso de formación de profesores en las Escuelas Pedagógicas, en las que se han incluido especialidades como la Geografía en respuesta a necesidades ingentes de la sociedad y para garantizar el alcance social de potencialidades imprescindibles para el desarrollo del país.</p>
			<p>Asociado a lo anterior, la formación de profesores de Geografía, la integra un sistema de ciencias que abarcan el estudio de los componentes físico- geográficos y económicos- geográficos, concretados en el paisaje, que constituye el escenario principal de la Geografía, mediante el estudio sobre el terreno, la observación´ directa; el trabajo de campo, la excursión geográfica y el itinerario didáctico, que favorece su aprendizaje.</p>
			<p>El itinerario didáctico se define como los recorridos con fines docentes que realiza una persona o grupo de personas hacia una dirección determinada, puede ser abierto o cerrado y donde existen diversos puntos de interés didáctico para la enseñanza de objetivos educativos e instructivos. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Bosques, 2004</xref>, p. 221).</p>
			<p>Por ello, resulta necesario potenciar el estudio de la Geografía, a partir de los paisajes como elemento esencial en el análisis de los fenómenos geográficos para la apropiación de los conocimientos, el desarrollo de habilidades y modos de actuación, debido a la interacción del ser humano con el ambiente donde vive y lo que aporta a la formación de profesores.</p>
			<p>Desde esta dirección, el itinerario didáctico, en la formación de los profesores de Geografía en Escuelas Pedagógicas, ofrece posibilidades para la Educación para el Desarrollo Sostenible, (EDS), mediante el estudio de paisajes de forma real o virtual y a diferentes escalas global, regional o local y para el creciente interés de perfeccionar la formación de los profesionales de la educación, que a nivel internacional se ha experimentado y de la que Cuba no está exento.</p>
			<p>Es de destacar, que en Cuba los itinerarios didácticos han sido poco sistematizados, poco abordados desde el punto de vista teórico y práctico; la mayoría de las investigaciones realizadas sugieren las salidas fuera del aula mediante la excursión docente, mientras el itinerario lo identifican como un elemento de su preparación y resultan limitados los aportes relacionados con el estudio del espacio geográfico a diferentes escalas regional o global. Se destaca en estudios sobre el tema: <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Bosque (2004)</xref> el cual define este término y presenta los procedimientos metodológicos para su diseño.</p>
			<p>Si se toma en cuenta que constituye una necesidad el perfeccionamiento en la formación de profesores de Geografía, se necesita buscar otras formas que faciliten la asimilación de conocimientos, habilidades y actitudes; a partir del estudio de diferentes espacios geográficos; sin embargo, se consideran insuficientes las soluciones propuestas por la ciencia en Escuelas Pedagógicas Cubanas. </p>
			<p>En consecuencia, ante los retos de la EDS, el empleo de los itinerarios didácticos puede contribuir a la formación de profesores de Geografía en Escuelas Pedagógicas, de manera que se propicie la asimilación de los conocimientos, actitudes y habilidades profesionales pedagógicas, al potenciar el estudio del paisaje de forma integral y a diferentes escalas, con el empleo de variados entornos de aprendizaje.</p>
			<p>El objetivo del artículo es exponer un modelo de itinerario didáctico para la formación de profesores de Geografía en Escuelas Pedagógicas, que facilite su incorporación al proceso formativo alineado a la Educación para el Desarrollo Sostenible.</p>

			<title>Desarrollo</title>
			<p>La Unión Geográfica Internacional (UGI), en sus declaraciones internacionales, expresa la necesidad de una Geografía encaminada a potenciar el conocimiento del entorno cercano a la sociedad donde se vive, que debe existir un equilibrio en la escala del análisis geográfico: local, regional, nacionales o mundial y que es esencial que los estudiantes ejerciten y desarrollen habilidades geográficas tendentes a la búsqueda de soluciones a los problemas planteados en la organización del espacio, actual y futuro (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">UGI, 1992</xref>).</p>
			<p>En este sentido, refieren priorizar los temas que afectan al pensamiento ecológico- holístico y se centra en la contribución de la Geografía a la EDS, pues contribuye a mejorar la comprensión de la misma al desarrollar su currículo, a incorporar las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones (Tics) y el vínculo con la adquisición de competencias geográficas (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">UGI, 2007</xref>).</p>
			<p>Se destacan en esta misma declaración, los tres ámbitos competenciales: el conocimiento, las habilidades y las actitudes, expresados a través del conocimiento y la comprensión geográfica de los sistemas naturales, la interacción entre ecosistemas y los sistemas socioeconómicos y ayuda a los estudiantes a comprender el mundo a través de conceptos clave geográficos como localización, distribución, distancia, movimiento, región, escala, asociación espacial, interacción espacial y cambio a lo largo del tiempo; el trabajo sobre habilidades de comunicación, razonamiento y aptitudes prácticas y sociales ayudan a explorar temas geográficos en un rango de niveles desde lo local a lo internacional. El desarrollo de actitudes y valores para buscar soluciones a preguntas y problemas locales, regionales, nacionales e internacionales sobre la base de la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">UGI, 2007</xref>).</p>
			<p>Por tanto, la Geografía debe ser capaz de explicar la diversidad de espacios existentes, las desigualdades territoriales y sociales que se dan en el planeta y dentro de los propios países o naciones, los efectos que la acción humana está teniendo sobre la Naturaleza y el medio ambiente y las causas que los motivan, y tratar de aportar soluciones. Sólo conociendo, se es consciente del impacto que los fenómenos de la globalización provocan y se podrá tener una imagen más ajustada de lo que sucede en el entorno cercano y lejano (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B5">Marrón, 2007</xref>).</p>
			<p>Teniendo en cuenta las consideraciones anteriores, el reto en las propuestas de la Geografía, implica la inclusión de nuevas formas de comprender el espacio para acercar a los estudiantes a los avances teóricos. La Geografía debe aportar una nueva conceptualización del espacio y abordar otras Geografías para incluir otros temas que den sentido al estudio de las relaciones de los grupos sociales con su entorno. Así, prestar atención a temáticas con una perspectiva de análisis que pone al relieve conceptos de lo invisible, lo intangible y lo efímero en Geografía, considerado marginal en los estudios tradicionales; es decir la dimensión temporal en el estudio de cualquier proceso (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">Nogué &amp; Romero, 2006</xref>).</p>
			<p>Asociado a lo anterior, la profesora <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">García (2009</xref>) refiere que estos conocimientos contribuyen a la formación de ciudadanos críticos. A lo cual aposta EDS, que busca sensibilizar sobre la situación actual, la mejora ambiental, el desarrollo social y la economía sostenible y pretende conjugar una salida hacia adelante buscando el mayor equilibrio entre las diferentes fuerzas. Siendo esto un requisito para la formación de los futuros profesores. </p>
			<p>Teniendo en cuenta, lo abordado con anterioridad, se considera que las formas empleadas en la formación de profesores de Geografía en las Escuelas Pedagógicas Cubanas deben asumir las siguientes características:</p>
			<p>
				<list list-type="bullet">
					<list-item>
						<p>Se potencie el estudio del espacio geográfico a diferentes escalas: global, regional y local. </p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Se incorporen los conocimientos de otras geografías donde se tenga en cuenta lo invisible, lo intangible, y lo efímero.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Se promueva el uso de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Se estudien los contenidos de forma holística, para contribuir a la EDS.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Se contribuya a la solución de problemas de la sociedad donde viven.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Se contribuya al desarrollo de competencias profesionales: en sus tres ámbitos: el conocimiento, las habilidades y las actitudes.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Se incluyan nuevas formas de comprender el espacio para acercar a los estudiantes a los avances teóricos.</p>
					</list-item>
				</list>
			</p>
			<p>Como consecuencia, el modelo que se propone es una construcción teórica formal: interpreta, diseña y coincide con la realidad pedagógica, que fundamentada científica e ideológicamente, responde a una necesidad educativa en correspondencia con las exigencias sociales. </p>
			<p>El modelo como resultado científico en el sector educacional es necesario para enriquecer la teoría y transformar la práctica pedagógica; cumple una función heurística; permite descubrir y estudiar nuevas relaciones, cualidades del objeto estudiado, a su vez revela, la naturaleza del objeto que se modela y las posiciones teórico-metodológicas que faciliten su instrumentación. Este surge del estudio del objeto y por tanto, no es su copia original. El investigador describe y representa, hasta un determinado grado, la estructura, el funcionamiento y el estado del objeto. </p>
			<p>En el estudio realizado sobre la definición de modelo sobre diferentes autores coinciden en exponer que constituye una representación simplificada de la realidad, es un esquema interpretativo que cumple con una finalidad en el campo científico y no es definitivo. Se asemeja al objeto original y refleja sus principales características, relaciones, estructuras, propiedades; concepto que se asume. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">Stoff, 1980</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">Pérez, et. al, 1996</xref>).</p>
			<p>La propuesta del modelo de itinerario didáctico para la formación de profesores de Geografía en Escuelas Pedagógicas Cubanas, surge del análisis y procesamiento de los datos obtenidos, como resultado, a partir de la aplicación de instrumentos de diagnóstico a 39 estudiantes en formación, que estudian la especialidad: observación participante, entrevista en profundidad y grupo focal, los cuales permitieron determinar insuficiencias en:</p>
			<p>
				<list list-type="bullet">
					<list-item>
						<p>La interpretación de los elementos físicos del paisaje de forma integral.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>El establecimiento de relaciones entre los componentes naturales y sociales del espacio geográfico.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>En el desarrollo de habilidades cartográficas, intelectuales generales y específicas.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>En la búsqueda de soluciones a problemas ambientales.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Inadecuadas normas de comportamiento social.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Al procesar información, trabajar con la bibliografía básica y complementaria de la especialidad y con otras fuentes de información.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>En la búsqueda de estrategias de aprendizaje individual y grupal.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>En la independencia para desarrollar habilidades de estudio.</p>
					</list-item>
				</list>
			</p>
			<p>Los resultados evidencian las insuficiencias en la formación de profesores de Geografía en Escuelas Pedagógicas Cubanas, los cuales concuerdan con los tres ámbitos competenciales para un profesional de esta disciplina: cognitivo, procedimental y actitudinal, asumido por la Unión Geográfica Internacional. </p>
			<p>Se puede concluir planteando que la formación de profesores de Geografía en Escuelas Pedagógicas Cubanas, debe estar en correspondencia con las necesidades concretas del momento histórico y posibilitar la adecuada formación para ejercer la docencia; por el papel determinante que desempeña en la formación de las futuras generaciones, por su enfoque integrador con otras ciencias, por su aporte a la personalidad y al conocimiento de los estudiantes y su contribución al desarrollo sostenible. </p>
			<p>En correspondencia con lo anterior, desde la antigüedad, se destaca la necesidad de la educación del hombre en vinculación con la naturaleza, como medio fundamental del desarrollo intelectual del estudiante, que les proporcione los conocimientos necesarios, los prepare para su actividad práctica y se enfatiza en la necesidad de producir el interés en los estudiantes para que la enseñanza sea fecunda. </p>
			<p>A esto se puede añadir, que el surgimiento y desarrollo de las excursiones con fines recreativos y educativos, debe garantizar el abandono del academicismo a favor de la actividad y la experimentación. La necesidad de enseñar a pensar en todo lo que le rodea, a convertir al estudiante en un campo cultivable y no en un almacén, a ver antes que saber y promover el valor de los viajes por encima de muchas lecciones.</p>
			<p>Luego se relacionan las actividades fuera del aula como método para la observación activa del medio, se promueve la enseñanza de la realidad global, se concibe la escuela como un espacio de producción y reflexión de experiencias relevantes de la vida social, que estimule la realización de clases- paseos o itinerarios didácticos, enfocados en la interpretación del paisaje y para la formación de docentes. </p>
			<p>Un itinerario didáctico, de acuerdo a <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Bosque (2004)</xref> es un recorrido con fines docentes (…) donde existen diversos puntos de interés didácticos para la enseñanza de objetivos formativos e instructivos (p. 221). Para <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Liceras (2018</xref>) son aquellas actividades que realiza el profesor con sus alumnos sobre el terreno (p. 4). Mientras para <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">Álvarez &amp; Hernández (2021)</xref> expresan que son recursos que implican cambiar el aula por el mundo exterior, para interactuar con la realidad (…) que constituyen una propuesta respecto al modo de organizar y guioniar la enseñanza (p. 321).</p>
			<p>En este sentido, los autores de esta investigación consideran los itinerarios didácticos como: un recorrido con fines docentes, donde se realizan actividades sobre el terreno, que puede ser en paisajes de la realidad objetiva o en representaciones virtuales de la realidad objetiva a diferentes escalas (local, regional o global) para la enseñanza de conocimientos, actitudes y habilidades profesionales pedagógicas que constituye una forma de organización docente para la formación de profesores de Geografía. </p>
			<p>Según <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Bosque (2004)</xref>: también se deben tener presente los siguientes requisitos para su utilización:</p>
			<p>
				<list list-type="bullet">
					<list-item>
						<p>Evitar el exceso de paradas.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Evitar largas distancias.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Evitar lugares de mucho tráfico o ruido.</p>
					</list-item>
					<list-item>
						<p>Los recursos seleccionados deben ser significativos y tener la mayor visibilidad posible de los fenómenos o procesos a estudiar.</p>
					</list-item>
				</list>
			</p>
			<p>El itinerario didáctico es de gran importancia en la formación de profesores de Geografía pues resulta un recurso didáctico esencial en el estudio y desarrollo del aprendizaje de la realidad social, cultural, patrimonial e histórica, y supone una estrategia metodológica activa que propicia el desarrollo de valores y competencias, potenciadas desde el trabajo colaborativo. (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Liceras, 2018</xref>, p. 71).</p>
			<p>El itinerario didáctico presenta ventajas para los estudiantes en formación: el desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas, de percepción y observación del paisaje; la comprensión de conceptos básicos y la comprobación de hechos concretos; de habilidades procedimentales, la autoestima y la autoconfianza al alcanzar resultados positivos y ser protagonistas de la actividad. El aprendizaje se produce de forma autónoma y progresiva, la interdisciplinariedad, en un espíritu crítico, responsable y participativo, captar la realidad de manera integrada, la observación directa de los objetos de estudio, la comparación, las destrezas cartográficas y una perspectiva ambiental sobre el entorno que puede propiciar la búsqueda de soluciones a problemas ambientales. </p>
			<p>El modelo se precisa desde dos perspectivas que se presuponen: estructural y funcional. La perspectiva estructural se dirige a explicar el modelo en su dimensión estática y desde este particular el mismo puede ser visto como la integración de un sistema de componentes que articulan entre sí posibilitando la formación de profesores de Geografía en Escuelas Pedagógicas Cubanas.</p>
			<p>Acorde con estas particularidades, los componentes del modelo son los siguientes: planificación, preparación y evaluación integral. (<xref ref-type="fig" rid="f1">Figura 1</xref> Representación gráfica del modelo).</p>

			</p>
			<p>Las fases de cada uno de sus componentes responden a una interrelación que integra la dinámica y funcionabilidad que se proyecta en el modelo a través de las acciones de jerarquización y subordinación que ofrecen integralidad a la formación de profesores de Geografía en Escuelas Pedagógicas Cubanas.</p>
			<p>Explicación necesaria de cada una de los componentes. </p>

				<title>ABSTRACT</title>
				<p>In Cuba, didactic itineraries have been little systematized and approached from the theoretical and practical point of view. In this sense, a model of didactic itinerary is proposed for the training of Geography teachers in Pedagogical Schools. Methods and techniques such as: observation, interview, focal group and memos were applied. This proposal contributed to develop professional pedagogical skills, to systematize geographic knowledge and to assume adequate behavioral norms. This is consistent with the assumptions of Education for Sustainable Development.</p>

				<title>Introduction</title>
				<p>The processes of improvement of the educational system in Cuba has been aimed at raising the quality of education and has become a purpose of systematic and progressive work at various times of historical development, which takes into account the scientific and technological advances to put man at the level of his time.</p>
				<p>In this direction, priority has been given to the process of teacher training in the Pedagogical Schools, in which specialties such as Geography have been included in response to the enormous needs of society and to guarantee the social scope of essential potentialities for the development of the country.</p>
				<p>Associated with the above, the training of Geography teachers is integrated by a system of sciences that cover the study of the physical-geographical and economic-geographical components, concretized in the landscape, which constitutes the main scenario of Geography, by means of field study, direct observation, field work, geographical excursion and the didactic itinerary, which favors its learning.</p>
				<p>The didactic itinerary is defined as the routes with teaching purposes that a person or group of people makes towards a determined direction, it can be open or closed and where there are different points of didactic interest for the teaching of educational and instructive objectives (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Bosques, 2004</xref>, p. 221).</p>
				<p>Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the study of Geography, starting from landscapes as an essential element in the analysis of geographical phenomena for the appropriation of knowledge, the development of skills and modes of action, due to the interaction of human beings with the environment where they live and what it contributes to the training of teachers.</p>
				<p>From this direction, the didactic itinerary, in the training of Geography teachers in Pedagogical Schools, offers possibilities for Education for Sustainable Development, (ESD), through the study of landscapes in a real or virtual way and at different global, regional or local scales and for the growing interest in perfecting the training of education professionals, which has been experienced internationally and from which Cuba is not exempt.</p>
				<p>It is noteworthy that in Cuba, didactic itineraries have been little systematized, little approached from the theoretical and practical point of view; most of the research suggests outings outside the classroom through the teacher's excursion, while the itinerary is identified as an element of its preparation and the contributions related to the study of geographic space at different regional or global scales are limited. The following studies on the subject stand out: <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Bosque (2004)</xref>, which defines this term and presents the methodological procedures for its design.</p>
				<p>If it is taken into account that there is a need for improvement in the training of Geography teachers, it is necessary to look for other ways to facilitate the assimilation of knowledge, skills and attitudes, based on the study of different geographic spaces; however, the solutions proposed by science in Cuban Pedagogical Schools are considered insufficient. </p>
				<p>Consequently, in view of the challenges of ESD, the use of didactic itineraries can contribute to the training of Geography teachers in Pedagogical Schools, so that the assimilation of knowledge, attitudes and professional pedagogical skills is favored, by promoting the study of the landscape in an integral way and at different scales, with the use of varied learning environments.</p>
				<p>The objective of the article is to present a model of didactic itinerary for the training of Geography teachers in Pedagogical Schools, which facilitates their incorporation to the training process aligned to Education for Sustainable Development.</p>

				<title>Development</title>
				<p>The International Geographical Union (IGU), in its international declarations, expresses the need for a Geography aimed at enhancing knowledge of the environment close to the society where one lives, that there should be a balance in the scale of geographical analysis: local, regional, national or global, and that it is essential that students exercise and develop geographical skills aimed at finding solutions to the problems posed in the organization of space, present and future (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">IGU, 1992</xref>).</p>
				<p>In this sense, they refer to prioritizing topics that affect ecological-holistic thinking and focus on the contribution of Geography to ESD, as it contributes to improving the understanding of ESD by developing its curriculum, incorporating Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and the link with the acquisition of geographic competencies (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">IGU, 2007</xref>).</p>
				<p>The same statement highlights the three competency domains: knowledge, skills and attitudes, expressed through geographic knowledge and understanding of natural systems, the interaction between ecosystems and socioeconomic systems and helps students to understand the world through key geographic concepts such as location, distribution, distance, movement, region, scale, spatial association, spatial interaction and change over time; work on communication skills, reasoning and practical and social skills help to explore geographic issues at a range of levels from local to international. The development of attitudes and values to seek solutions to local, regional, national and international questions and problems based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">IGU, 2007</xref>).</p>
				<p>Therefore, Geography must be able to explain the diversity of existing spaces, the territorial and social inequalities that exist on the planet and within countries or nations themselves, the effects that human action is having on Nature and the environment and the causes that motivate them, and try to provide solutions. Only by being aware of the impact of globalization phenomena can we have a more accurate picture of what is happening in the near and distant environment (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B5">Marrón, 2007</xref>).</p>
				<p>
					<list list-type="bullet">
						<list-item>
							<p>Taking into account the above considerations, the challenge in Geography proposals implies the inclusion of new ways of understanding space in order to bring students closer to theoretical advances. Geography must contribute a new conceptualization of space and approach other Geographies to include other topics that give meaning to the study of the relationships of social groups with their environment. Thus, paying attention to themes with a perspective of analysis that highlights concepts of the invisible, the intangible and the ephemeral in Geography, considered marginal in traditional studies; that is, the temporal dimension in the study of any process (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">Nogué &amp; Romero, 2006</xref>).</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>Associated with the above, Professor <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">García (2009</xref>) refers that this knowledge contributes to the formation of critical citizens. This is what ESD aims at, which seeks to raise awareness of the current situation, environmental improvement, social development and sustainable economy and aims to combine a way forward by seeking the best balance between the different forces. This is a requirement for the training of future teachers. </p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>Taking into account the above, it is considered that the forms used in the training of Geography teachers in Cuban Pedagogical Schools should assume the following characteristics:</p>
						</list-item>
					</list>
				</p>
				<p>The study of geographic space at different scales: global, regional and local. </p>
				<p>
					<list list-type="bullet">
						<list-item>
							<p>Incorporate knowledge of other geographies where the invisible, the intangible and the ephemeral are taken into account.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>The use of information and communication technologies is promoted.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>The contents are studied holistically to contribute to ESD.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>Contribute to the solution of problems of the society where they live.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>Contribute to the development of professional competencies: in its three areas: knowledge, skills, and attitudes.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>New ways of understanding space are included to bring students closer to theoretical advances.</p>
						</list-item>
					</list>
				</p>
				<p>As a consequence, the proposed model is a formal theoretical construction: it interprets designs and coincides with the pedagogical reality, which, scientifically and ideologically based, responds to an educational need in correspondence with social demands. </p>
				<p>The model as a scientific result in the educational sector is necessary to enrich the theory and transform the pedagogical practice; it fulfills a heuristic function; it allows discovering and studying new relations, qualities of the studied object, at the same time it reveals, the nature of the object that is modeled and the theoretical-methodological positions that facilitate its instrumentation. It arises from the study of the object and is therefore not its original copy. The researcher describes and represents, to a certain degree, the structure, functioning and state of the object. </p>
				<p>In the study carried out on the definition of model, different authors coincide in stating that it constitutes a simplified representation of reality, it is an interpretative scheme that fulfills a purpose in the scientific field and is not definitive. It resembles the original object and reflects its main characteristics, relations, structures, properties; a concept that is assumed (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">Stoff, 1980</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">Pérez, et. al., 1996</xref>).</p>
				<p>The proposal of the didactic itinerary model for the training of Geography teachers in Cuban Pedagogical Schools, arises from the analysis and processing of the data obtained as a result of the application of diagnostic instruments to 39 students in training, who study the specialty: participant observation, in-depth interview and focus group, which allowed determining insufficiencies in:</p>
				<p>
					<list list-type="bullet">
						<list-item>
							<p> The interpretation of the physical elements of the landscape in an integral way.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> The establishment of relationships between the natural and social components of the geographic space.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> In the development of cartographic, general and specific intellectual skills.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> In the search for solutions to environmental problems.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> Inadequate standards of social behavior.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> When processing information, working with the basic and complementary bibliography of the specialty and with other sources of information.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> In the search for individual and group learning strategies.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> In the independence to develop study skills.</p>
						</list-item>
					</list>
				</p>
				<p>The results show the insufficiencies in the training of Geography teachers in Cuban Pedagogical Schools, which agree with the three competence areas for a professional in this discipline: cognitive, procedural and attitudinal, assumed by the International Geographical Union. </p>
				<p>It can be concluded by stating that the training of Geography teachers in Cuban Pedagogical Schools should be in correspondence with the concrete needs of the historical moment and make possible the adequate training to exercise teaching; for the determining role it plays in the formation of future generations, for its integrating approach with other sciences, for its contribution to the personality and knowledge of students and its contribution to sustainable development. </p>
				<p>In correspondence with the above, since ancient times, the need for the education of man in connection with nature is emphasized, as a fundamental means of intellectual development of students, which provides them with the necessary knowledge, prepares them for their practical activity and emphasizes the need to produce interest in students for teaching to be fruitful.</p>
				<p>To this can be added that the emergence and development of excursions for recreational and educational purposes should guarantee the abandonment of academicism in favor of activity and experimentation. The need to teach to think about everything around him, to turn the student into a cultivable field and not a warehouse, to see before knowing and to promote the value of travel over many lessons.</p>
				<p>Then, activities outside the classroom are related as a method for the active observation of the environment, the teaching of the global reality is promoted, the school is conceived as a space for the production and reflection of relevant experiences of social life, which stimulates the realization of classes-walks or didactic itineraries, focused on the interpretation of the landscape and for the training of teachers. </p>
				<p>A didactic itinerary, according to <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Bosque (2004)</xref> is a tour with teaching purposes (...) where there are several didactic points of interest for teaching formative and instructive objectives (p. 221). For <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Liceras (2018</xref>) are those activities that the teacher performs with his students in the field (p. 4). While for <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">Álvarez &amp; Hernández (2021</xref>) express that they are resources that involve changing the classroom for the outside world, to interact with reality (...) that constitute a proposal regarding the way of organizing and scripting teaching (p. 321).</p>
				<p>In this sense, the authors of this research consider didactic itineraries as: a route for teaching purposes, where activities are carried out in the field, which can be in landscapes of the objective reality or in virtual representations of the objective reality at different scales (local, regional or global) for the teaching of knowledge, attitudes and professional pedagogical skills that constitute a form of teaching organization for the training of Geography teachers. </p>
				<p>According to <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">Bosque (2004)</xref>: the following requirements for its use should also be kept in mind:</p>
				<p>
					<list list-type="bullet">
						<list-item>
							<p>Avoid excessive stops.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>Avoid long distances.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>Avoid places with heavy traffic or noise.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>The selected resources should be significant and have the greatest possible visibility of the phenomena or processes to be studied.</p>
						</list-item>
					</list>
				</p>
				<p>The didactic itinerary is of great importance in the training of Geography teachers as it is an essential didactic resource in the study and development of learning about the social, cultural, patrimonial and historical reality, and it is an active methodological strategy that favors the development of values and competences, enhanced from collaborative work (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">Liceras, 2018</xref>, p. 71).</p>
				<p>The didactic itinerary presents advantages for students in training: the development of communicative skills, of perception and observation of the landscape; the understanding of basic concepts and the verification of concrete facts; of procedural skills, self-esteem and self-confidence by achieving positive results and being protagonists of the activity. Learning takes place in an autonomous and progressive way, interdisciplinarity, in a critical, responsible and participative spirit, grasping reality in an integrated way, direct observation of the objects of study, comparison, cartographic skills and an environmental perspective on the surroundings that can propitiate the search for solutions to environmental problems. </p>
				<p>The model is specified from two presupposed perspectives: structural and functional. The structural perspective is aimed at explaining the model in its static dimension and from this particular point of view it can be seen as the integration of a system of components that articulate among themselves, making possible the training of Geography teachers in Cuban Pedagogical Schools.</p>
				<p>According to these particularities, the components of the model are the following: planning, preparation and comprehensive evaluation. (<xref ref-type="fig" rid="f2">Figure 1</xref> Graphical representation of the model).</p>

						<list-item>
							<p> Diagnosis and characterization. It consists of applying different diagnostic instruments that make it possible to determine the potentialities and weaknesses of the students in training in order to identify the traits that characterize them.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> Design of the didactic itinerary. It consists of designing the didactic itinerary, evaluating it in the year and department collective for its approval and insertion into the institutional curriculum. Research and seek information about the material resources and teaching aids available, as well as a previous study of possible landscapes to be studied during the didactic itinerary, by the teacher(s). Organize the material resources necessary for the activities, taking into account the resources available. To design the possible activities to be carried out during each of the stages of the didactic itinerary, as well as the aspects to be evaluated in each one.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> Preparation. It consists of the realization of the didactic itinerary taking into consideration the motivation, organization of the students in study teams, evaluation, orientation, background knowledge, landscapes to be studied, goals to be improved, information search and scientific research activities and the bibliography to be used.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> Research and information search. It consists of presenting the results obtained by the students, contrasting and comparing the regularities of the phenomenon under study in different contexts, outlining the itinerary to be followed together with their teacher. Define the didactic potentialities, the procedures used, the skills developed, the attitudes, feelings and values reinforced during the research. To elaborate the observation guide for the itinerary to be developed. Assess and evaluate the results, the goals to be proposed, elaborate a portfolio or dossier with the information gathered and guide the worksheet.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> Execution of the route. It consists of describing and determining the most relevant elements of each landscape, reading the landscape, locating and locating the most outstanding elements, establishing the relationship between the components and determining the didactic principles of Geography, precision of the aesthetic, cultural, patrimonial and identity values of each landscape, the history and traces of history in the landscape. Specify the damages to the environment and propose actions to minimize them and their contribution to sustainable development. Establish interdisciplinary relationships. To understand, explain and value the causes of the processes and phenomena observed in each landscape, taking into account the ephemeral, invisible and intangible elements of each landscape and the route. Describe the feelings, make an analysis of the attitudes and human values strengthened. To compare the observation and perception of each landscape with the research carried out. To specify the regularities of the developed route, to determine and explain the most significant general skills for the students, professionals, cartographic teachers and didactic procedures that are approached during the execution of the performed activity, as well as the contribution to their formation. To carry out the integral evaluation of the studied landscapes and their possibilities for their later performance as basic secondary school teacher; as well as the didactic value of the route carried out. Assess and reflect on the evaluation and determine the goals.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> Conclusions. It consists of evaluating the fulfillment of the objectives during the didactic itinerary developed. To reflect and recapitulate the experiences lived, the contributions of the itinerary to the integral formation of the students as future teachers of Geography for basic secondary education. Present the results obtained, make exhibitions or publications where the results are shown.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> Integral evaluation. It is systematic and integrating, it constitutes a consistent vision of the model. It evaluates the internal structure, the coherence established between the objective of the model and its development, the adequacy to the environments, needs, possibilities, feasibility, the adjustments and the opening of new local social demands on the training of Geography teachers in Pedagogical Schools. It consists of assessing and reflecting on the evaluation and the goals achieved. Reflect on the main difficulties and achievements. To select the best works, students and teams. Evaluate students, integrally and individually.</p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p>. Redesign. It consists of the evaluation of each of the structural components and the flexibility offered by the model to modify or alter components or select different contents to adapt the didactic itinerary to the training of Geography teachers in Pedagogical Schools and adapt them according to the needs of the institutions and students. </p>
						</list-item>
						<list-item>
							<p> Updating. As the process of training Geography teachers in Pedagogical Schools progresses, the components of the model are updated based on the transformations that have occurred.</p>
						</list-item>
					</list>
				</p>
				<p>Functional perspective of the model: it is a functional representation of a didactic itinerary for the training of Geography teachers in Pedagogical Schools, emphasizing the three competence areas: cognitive, procedural and attitudinal to assume its treatment from the value of the journey through different real or virtual, local, regional and global landscapes.</p>
				<p>The implementation of the model is carried out in the schedule of complementary activities as part of the study plan for the training of Geography teachers in Cuban Pedagogical Schools, based on a program designed for this purpose.</p>
				<p>Results of the application of the model.</p>
